September 20 vs Indians
Double Header
Lost 2-1
Lost 5-4

  • Game, set, match. Season over! With yet more of the same the Sox ended their chances at a post-season berth yesterday with the perfect exclamation point on the season. Patheticness, Ineptness, Chokemasters, pick your poison. Mathematically we're still alive, but any realisitc hope was squashed by a bunch of guys that just can't get it done (Pedro, Nomar, and Carl notwithstanding).

I think Pedro must be going out of his mind. In arguably an even better season than last year the Sox let him down again, allowing him to lose yet another game where he only surrenderd one run. Oh and don't forget that the Indians starter in game one yesterday entered with a 7.03 ERA and left without giving up a run in six innings. Can you say CHOKE?

Then of course they had to bleed us to the very end in game one with the pen allowing a run in the ninth to make the score 2-0 only to have the offense magically wake up, put together a few hits, score a run, and then leave the tieing and winning runs on base. The season in a nut shell.

The night cap I skipped becasue the Sox simply broke me yeserday. Which is just as well since they decided to pack it in anyway and allowed the Tribe to sweep the double dip. You know in 75% of double headers there is a split? Guess the Sox defied the odds again.

It's going to be hard to just ride-out the reaminder of the schedule (12 more games), especially when you have tickets to two more (tonight one of them). Don't worry though, we still plan on sticking with the team and the site till the end. Actually the plan is to keep the site quite active thru the off-season as well so we can all still get our daily fix. I have a few (good, I think) ideas to keep is fresh in the off-season.

I'm talking about next year again. Ah, the life of a Sox fan. In the meaningless match-ups tonight Tim Wakefield and Rolando Arrojo are on the mound for the Sox. Stat building time guys, game times 1:05pm EST and 7:05pm EST.
