You have got to be kidding me? Had we not eliminated ourselves on Friday, we'd be only 1.5 games back going into today. The Yanks are giving it away, their still trying to anyway. Damn this stinks!
Looks like I was a day late in saying that out of nowhere Jimy would finally use Morgan Burkhardt again and he'd have a deciding at bat in the game. For those of you who don't know, with two-out and an man on base in the ninth inning, Burkhardt hit a bomb to straight away center field to put the Sox ahead by a run. If we only could have had a big hit like that on Friday, or better yet, had Beck not been used for the seemingly 10th day in a row and didn't give up those two eigth inning runs to put the Sox behind by four, only to have us score two in the ninth, but two too few.
The Os have done their part, we just didn't do ours. DAMN!
So whoes bandwagon is everyone jumping on for the playoffs? I for one am sick of the Braves, and the Mets go without saying. So for the NL that leaves a tough choice between San Fran and St. Louis. I kinda like SF better anyway, but since STL won the Super Bowl I definetly don't want them to go to the WS. So for the NL, I like the Giants.
As for the AL, it's tough to say i'm rooting for someone, sice their there instead of my team. But whoever knocks out the Yanks is going to become a favorite very quickly. For some reason I don't really like the Chi-Sox, so their out. But the last two spots aren't decided yet between the Tribe, M's, and A's. I would like to see the M's and A's in the playoffs with the A's as the AL representative. Battle of the bay part two, but this time without the earthquake.
Sox finish off this season of never ending dissapointment today in Tampa Bay.
