Maybe the Oakland A's are just going to be "that team" that Arrojo doesn't do well against. Jimy did nip it in the but before it could get worse, and our pen did somewhat hold the fort down, but the offense couldn't score enough runs to counter.
When was the last time we hit two dingers in the same game? Well Offy and Bichette did it last night, but it only figures both were solo. Damn! Bichette's could have been a 2-run or even a 3-run shot, but Nomar lined into a double-play just before, as Everett (who was on first) was running on the play. I'm not questioning the decision to run, in that particular situation the runner should be going. Heck I think Jimy should do it more often. But if it's not ineptness, it something else that's keeping the offense down. Just some bad luck I guess.
The only thing that's relly ticking me off about last night's game is that A's pitcher Mark Mulder, looked like a star again against us. His previous few outings he's been getting destroyed, hence the 5.68 ERA going into last night. But for some reason it's always us that pitchers "break-out" against.
Cleveland won, so now we're three games back of the Wild Card, making the eight games we still have left with them, mucho-importanto. Not time to panic yet, but I think we'll know after the weekend if we're a contender or not.
Today the Twins roll into town to make-up a rain-out from earlier this year. I though today was the make-up Yanker game, but that's on Monday. More than any other game this year, i'd say today's is a MUST WIN. Falling to seven back of the Yanks going into the four game set is not what we need. Ramon needs to come up big again, as he squares off against Eric Milton (another friggin lefty). Just Win Damn It! Game time 1:05pm EST.
