'Veen! 'Veen! Look! My wing matches the sky!! The starlight dragonet stared up at the night sky, then at his wing, then back again. His eyes whirled excitedly and he shifted, impatient for his rider to come and see his amazing discovery.

A'veen, viewer tucked under his arm, made his way to the rock his young bond was sitting on and climbed up next to him. He was greeted with a wing in his face that almost knocked him back into the lake. "Koni...calm down...Hey...watch it...You're gonna---". *SPLASH* At least he didn't have to fall too far...

Koniltanth turned slowly and looked down into the water even slower. He was in trouble now...I'm...sorry my rider... he said in a small mind voice. All the excitement from his revelation vanished...his eyes changing from an excited blue to a paniced yellow-orange.

A'veen stood up, thankfully he'd been knocked into a shallow area, and looked at his dragon. Whatever had been so urgent for A'veen to witness clearly didn't matter anymore...though he doubted that Koni had forgotten what it was. His personal constellation rarely forgot the smallest thing...

Koniltanth

"It's ok...I guess I needed a bath anyway..." he reached up and caressed the distraught dragon's head. He couldn't get mad at Koni...it just wasn't possible...and he'd managed to keep his viewer out of most of the water...so it should be alright.

You...aren't mad at me? Koni cocked his head to one side--the side being stroked--and gazed at his life mate.

A'veen smiled a little. "Nah...I can never get mad at you...Just be a little more careful next time...ok? Now...what were you so excited about?" He pulled himself up out of the water and sat down on the rock next to his dragon. Kiem appeared over his head and hovered there, looking at him. He cocked his head this way and that...before making a sound that could only be described as a laugh, then settled down on Koni's back.

Kiem

A'veen threw the flit a mock glare before taking out his view and making an adjustment. He set it on his lap and waited for Koni to tell him why he'd been so excited.

Look! He held his wing out so that A'veen could see it.My wing matched the sky! See! His eyes faded back to a happy blue as he started to get excited all over again.

A'veen looked at the wing in front of him, then up at the sky. "Yes it does." He smiled...A dragon the same color and pattern as the night sky...How perfect! He couldn't believe his luck...it was as if someone had told Orinocth to lay Koniltath's egg just for him...as if she knew he'd be there. He grinned, and leaned against his ideal dragon as they both looked up at the stars.
