Last Update was on July 21st, 2003. Listed below, you can find some ideas submitted by many people that would be a cool RuneScape up-date. Some of these probably will never happen, but some others have a possible chance of happening. There will also be a possible update rating, 0 being never, and 10 being the highest, meaning the up-date may happen in the future. I've also added an Idea Rating, which rates how good the idea is, no matter if it will probably happen or not. I didn't get them all done yet, but I will next time. If you'd like, you can submit your own idea on the bottom of the page.

i also think there should be boats you can buy so you can go to different places, and you actually drive the boat NOT ONE OF THOSE THINGS WHERE YOU GET ON A BOAT AND IT AUTOMATICLY TAKES YOU THERE thats stupid and there could be like boat ports where you can dock your boat. also you could pic like what type of flag u wanted to fly on your boat. this is very unlikely but it could be cool if u could fight other boats with cannons that u can buy like have a iron cannon all the way up to a rune cannon it would be cool - General
Possible Update Rating: 7. They may make it where you can actually drive the boat. Maybe the cannons, but dunno.
Idea Rating: 9. Pretty cool. Would make the game much broader. General, you have awesome ideas! Just hope it gets around...

my idea is that every now and then have like runescape wars and stuff. like have runescape staff make like different pollitical partys and have people inroll for the side they like then they get paid a certain amount of money. then get like a suit or somthin cheap to wear to show what side their on. then have every1 meet at a battle field and have every1 battle each other till like a certian amount of people are dead. but you wont have to use your own stuff you use what the army gives you so if you die you lose nothin of yours just the cheap weapons and stuff your side gives you. and if you win you get money or if you kill a certian amount of people you can get awards for fighting the best. if you think about it it would be awesome, you could have like good nights verse evil nights or north verse south or stuff like that. and if you want to take it even further. there could even be like different flags for each army and the army that wins gets their flag flown like on top of general stores, or like the dukes castle. this would be really cool if runescape staff would do this. there could be like generals that are runescape staff and stuff this would be awesome please people keep typeing what i have said on diferent websites and stuff and on here so we can get runescape staff to think about it cause we could make this awesome. if any1 can think up more things to add to what i have just typed plz do - General
Possible Update Rating: 5. RS may do that. Idea Rating: 10. That is a very good idea!!! Maybe even battling for your own RS God... Very very good idea. This would make the game much better, and bring much more competition to the game. I like this idea a lot, just hope it may happen!!! For non-members to stop whining for everything us members receive, and just pay the $5/month. - Gummy7
Possible Update Rating: 0. It will never stop :b. Some people would love to be members, but just can't, for a lot of different reasons. However, I think people shouldn't whine about things such as that, since most games that are related to RuneScape in a way cost money no matter what (you get maybe a week or two free but then need to pay).
Idea Rating: 2. It doesn't help whining about whiners...

I think that you should be able to buy a little frog that sits on your shoulder and will help you fight. (sort of like a weapon) It could gain levels too - Roberto777
Possible Update Rating: 3. Maybe there will be a summoning spell. Not sure about the frog thing though.

Possible Update Rating: 1. Choosing a time period make have to make the game unbelievably huge, since there would have to be many areas for many time periods. I doubt they will have modern things like cars. Might be a good idea otherwise.
Idea Rating: 1. That would change the game of RuneScape altogether.

you should be aloud 2 buy a horse from a farm or raise a a baby horse that has a lvl like u and enter races. - No credit

you could make it that u could get married with someone and use a gold ring as the ring. - No credit

each player who pays a certin charater at least 10,000 gold coins and they will get a apartment. They will have a key, but they can't trade it or lose it when they die. they can leave stuff in there and other people can't get in even if they pick the lock. Other keys won't work either. - eddeilover89
Possible Update Rating: 1. I really don't know how, if you pay another character 10,000 gold, how you would get a key to an apartment.. I think it should be more like 500k or something like that, for an apartment... Maybe more of rental...
Idea Rating: 3. Cool for the apartment part, but maybe you'd have to pay an apartment keeper or something.

An oasis where people can stop in the wild and be safe from other people like there would be a bank and a general store And Also there would be a big food shop there - No credit
Possible Update Rating: 2. A bank in the wilderness? Dunno. A safe spot would get tiring for PK'ers, since who they are chasing after will just go into the safe spot and deposit their stuff :).

to iron ore not have 50% chance of failing in furnace :-) and make more spells and runes - King-Soap
Possible Update Rating: 4. Probably will have more spells, and maybe more runes in the future. Dunno if they'd change the "the iron is too pure and you fail to refine it" thing.

a world switch menu. so you dont have to log out, then log back in on a different world. its a lot of typing trying to find an empty world to mine in. - rat racer550 (rs name)

I think rs should have spears,lances,or haldeberds. Or like chinatown and stuff like that. Just involve some other culters. Everyone wants a katana. - d_daredevil runescape player (add me)

In the upcoming engine, it would be cool to have air-borne objects or creatures, since it would have another dimension. Inclusion of creatures such as birds, bats or flying creatures in the air. Or Flying objects. (Would be more interesting for those using balistic stuff such as mages and archers.) -rune legions

It would be awsome to have more use from firemaking skill than just burning logs, maybe light a torch, scortch other players in wildy, or use fire on creatures. - rune legions

When u make your character in the beggining be able to have more scars or birthmarks or tatoos n stuff...that way people wont all look the same:) - No Credit

i think rs should make more stuff for non members.. since they got trowing nifes we should get throwing axes.....they get dragon we should get demon....since they fish shark we should fish octopuss......since they get more room we should get more also...... they even get 2 hander sworde stores so we should get 1 to. - 3416686

I think it would be more fun if you could ajust your size in the game like a spell or somthing and to RUN i mean you walk so slowly - sfta1, add stfa1 to your friend list!

Possible Update Rating: 2. They may have an option to skip it, or may not.. However, I highly doubt it. You really shouldn't be making THAT many accounts to be wanting to get rid of it.

Some sort of vice in bank where you can put money away, and it should take a couple of weeks to be able to withdraw it, would be a could way to stop your account being hacked and losing everything, (transfering to other account is illegal) - 0ri
Possible Update Rating: 2. Well, you kind of just gotta hope you don't get hacked. Get a long password with combinations of letters and numbers, otherwise, you're just asking for it.

to be able to have compartments in the bank such as a place for all herbs or all weapons or all runes to keep like items together. - pete e rose

Well an good idea for RuneScape would be to add horses to the Members Server, then most players would become members, and runescape would have grove alot! - Arey

To have a certain world for newbs and not be able to acess areas until your at a certain lvl - Unholyvngnce
Possible Update Rating: 5. To have a separate world for lower levels probably won't happen, but not be able to access certain areas until you are higher then a specific level might happen. Some places, like the mining guild for example, already have that.

i think that you should be able to break your sword on a raock or somthing so it would be jagged and take off more!!! - james01 (real runescape name)

To be able to "capture" high lvl monsters. A sort of option u have before the monster dies... and then u could use it for something. - No Credit

I think they should get better graphics (Note from me - There soon will be!) and far more quests because i have did all them and there is really that much more to do. I also want more things to do like a faster way to get youre firemaking up and i want far more items in the game new swords new armour new jeweraly more stuff to fletch more craftin items and more mining rocks and s.r.l. - legolas2034
Possible Update Rating: 8. There will be better graphics soon. Firemaking is pretty easy to get up already.. There may be new swords and armour in the future, same with jewelry. Probably more things to fletch in the future also, plus more mining rocks may happen..

well make it to where you can make your own store like it ca sell what ever you want..pple can come up and see what you have..not cost alot to make a store too..and you can sell the store to pple and close the store to go sumwere else or log off hehe :) i would love it...or you could buy a house like were all those lil house lookin things are in fally..ok thats all e-mail me if ya like this idea jordanc01@hotmail.com - CubanIce

To have a customized item, your person's personal item. You get to import the piture or draw it. Then you ask the runescape staff to make that effect for you and the image. Then they transfer it to your account, or your bank. That'ss be cool. Like having a bomb that destroys the whole screen :) - No Credit

To trade an item for a certain item at a store. Example: Two rune longs turns into a Rune 2h. Then you can switch it back to 2 rune longs. - No Credit

The introduction of early gunpowder weapons, such as a musket or a portable cannon or any other types of more advanced technology. The ability to use these items would be based on a new skill called "Tech". - Sam Coles

It would be nice if you could like take off your clothes and like put on a g-string or something like that rather than just pants and a shirt. That way u could show off your sexy body :) - miner8919

Instead of having the picture of the item,(suppose the axe) above your head when you use it, you can see yourself swing it sideways. Or diagonal when mining. - No Credit

Being able to have people carry you in a wagon, where you can sit in it and have two other people carry you while you just sit. The person who is riding can pay the two people who are pulling money to carry him. Kind of like a good newbie job way to make money :).

To have multi-battles.. Where more than one person can fight a person or thing at the same time, and gain experience. Of course, the experience would need to be split in half. Not like ranged and a person fighting 1x1, like two people fighting one thing in a 1x1 way at the same time.

To be able to trade with-in banks!
Possible Update Rating: 10. New 3D engine.

To be able to swim in some waters :)
Possible Update Rating: 3. Probably won't happen soon.

Mini-games in RS like slot machines and etc. - It would take gc or certain tokens to play
Possible Update Rating: 1. Be cool, but probably won't happen.

To be able to ride horses and etc.

To be able to trade with more than one person at a time, a cross trade or something..

Have some sort of pets in RuneScape that will follow you around :-D

For you to be able to carry some sort of light around.. Flashlight :) or to blend into RuneScape a burning flare or stick or something you hold on to.

Seasons in RS - Fall, Winter, Spring...

To be able to summon things, like a farmer (for example) to fight by your side for a certain amount of time.

To be able to control your character using the arrow keys.. It might make RuneScape use a bit more bandwith speed though =/

To be able to have more clothes... Maybe long sleeve shirt... change pants, have shorts.. have coats... We'd all look a little bit more different then, rather than being all the same.... Also be able to wear regular hats and etc.

Be able to teleport using magic to other players on your friend's list

For you to be able to breathe fire or something like dragons can.
Update Rating: 3. Firebreathing skill.. heh.

For RuneScape to save information, even to your hard disk, like your max hit ever, how many pks you have, total rocks mined, how many times you've been killed, total time played...etc.... Kind of a statistical information would be kind of nice to see.

To be able to drink water would be nice.. Even if it does nothing... Drinking water, milk or juice should raise HP by at least 1...

To be able to examine other players. When you examine them, it will show some sort of little profile they typed in for themselves.

To be able to send an item to somebody far away, maybe they are on your friends list. Like teleport an item.

For you to be able to change the camera view more.. Instead of just rotating around you character, maybe rotate up and down, instead of left and right.. That would make RS look cooler.

For there to be some kind of change in light when it is day and night.. Have some sort of RuneScape time. That would make it more of a real-time game. And if it's real-time, have certain monster or items or such come out in that certain time span. For example, from like 3 AM - 3:30 AM have a black knight or something appear in Varrock in an upstairs place, where not many people go ;).

A magic spell or something that will freeze a person or a computer player in place for a second or two. Maybe for an easier escape from battle or something.

For the RuneScape client to take screen shots of just the playing area window. Saves to a folder on the hard drive or something..

For RuneScape to log all messages or just certain ones like private or chat or etc..

To be able to ignore trade request from just one person who is bothering you to trade.
Update Rating: 5.

When in shops or in your bank, for you to be able to see all of your items! Instead of it only showing you part of your items if the bank is really full or the store is really full.

Have key shortcuts for certain things like prayer and magic, or maybe to send a message to a friend or something, instead of needing to use your mouse for everything basically.

To be able to add friends by right clicking the person and Add (Name) to friends list.

Have beverages other than wine and beer pretty much... Like soda or be able to drink other drinkable things in the game such as water and milk...
