Tips for a Winning Visual Presentation

Dress

You should have an overall neat and clean appearance.

Presentation

  • Your posters must all be the same size and going in the same direction.
  • Posters must all have two inch margins, and have the 4-H logo visible somewhere on the poster
  • They should be done in neat easy to read letters, done in bold easy to see colors. Remember, they must be seen from the back of the room. Multicolor letters should not be used!
  • Your posters should be divided up into major topics, with subtopics printed below
  • While not mandatory, a summary poster is nice. This poster is given at the very end of your presentation, and is a recap of all your major topics.
  • NO NEW INFORMATION CAN BE GIVEN AFTER YOU GIVE YOUR SUMMARY!

  • Containers should be uniform, and any ingredients should be pre-measured. For example, if you were giving a presentation on baking chocolate chip cookies and the recipe called for a cup of vegetable oil, you would not bring a gallon. However, have some extra on hand incase you have an accident. Don't worry if you do- they happen!
