Miles Drive on June 12: 26
Drove up to my aunt and uncle's in Rochester yesterday. The drive up I-81 through PA (Lehigh and Susquehanna Valleys) and through NY between Binghampton and Syracuse was really pretty. Lots of rolling green hills, trees, farms. Drove by Syracuse and saw the Syracuse U. Orangedome but the town didn't seem worth stopping at. Would have stopped at Seneca Falls (home of a women's rights monument) or at one of the vineyards but it was after 5 and pouring rain.
Today was a quiet day. I took care of some business in the morning (leftover bills and laundry), then took my cousin Annie to the Rochester Museum and Science Center. Then we stopped for ice cream and Italian ice. It was nice sitting and eating ice cream at a wooden bench on the Erie Canal, watching the ducks in the water and the people walking on the trail on the opposite side of the canal.
