Southwestern Germany
On my second trip to Germany in May 1998 I spent 5 days in Mannheim, Germany (one hour south of Frankfurt) visiting my friend Peter, a Mannheim native and former intern at the Spanish Education Development (SED) Center in Washington, DC. Mannheim was not only a pleasant and comfortable city in its own right, it was the perfect base for sightseeing in the region where the Rhine and Neckar rivers meet. Rather than give a bulleted list of attractions, I've prepared a daily travelogue which eventually will become part of a full trip travelogue. Note: Pictures were downloaded from either the official Heidelberg or Mannheim Web site. Home
