Prabhaas Kshetra

This area is a holy area. It is near Dwaarakaa, on the coast of Gujaraat. It is related to Krishn's life's events. Padm Puraan (p 271) says that it is present Sauraashtra.

Legend has it that the Kaalbhairav Shiv Ling (Bhairavanaath) at Prabhaas was worshipped by Chandramaa, and hence Shiv here is referred to as Som Naath. The Skand Puraan describes the Sparsh Ling of Som Naath as one bright as the sun, the size of an egg, lodged underground. The Mahaabhaarat also refers to the Prabhaas Kshetra and the legend of Chandramaa worshipping Shiv.
