Devakee

Devakee was the daughter of Devak, Mahaaraaj Ugrasen's brother. Ugrasen was the King of Mathuraa. He had 7 sons including Kans. Kans loved Devakee very much. He loved his friend Vasudev also. Vasudev always used to speak truth. To strengthen relationship with Vasudev, Kans married her to Vasudev. He loved her so much that when she was going to her husband's house after marriage, he told that he would drive her chariot to drop her there.

When he was taking her to her in-law's house, an Aakaashvaanee (Divine voice) said - "O Fool, To whoever sister you are taking, her eighth son will kill you." He knew that Aakaashvaanee do not tell lies, so immediately stopped the chariot, and stood up taking out his sword to kill Devakee, so that she does not live to produce children, be it first or eighth. Vasudev Jee explained him very cleverly that first of all Devakee was a woman and brave people do not kill women, second she was his sister, third she was newly married, and lastly whenever any child will be born to her he will give him to him. So there was no need to kill her now, but he could keep vigil over them.

Kans understood and he kept them in a prison. According to the promise Vasudev gave him his 6 sons and he killed them by hitting them on a stone. When the turn came of the 7th son, Bhagavaan transferred him to Rohinee's womb and as a result Balaraam was born to her. Then came Shree Krishn - the eighth son of Devakee, the incarnation of Vishnu and killer of Kans. Krishn showed them His Chaturbhuj Roop and asked them to transfer Him o Nand Graam to Nand and Yashodaa's house and to bring their newborn daughter and give her to Kans. According to His instructions Vasudev transferred Him to Nand Graam, brought Yashodaa's daughter to Mathuraa, and gave her to Kans. Although Kans did not believe that DEvakee's eighth child could be a daughter, still he did not want to leave any stone unturned so he hit her on the stone like Devakee's other sons. But as he hit her, she flew in the sky and spoke - "What will you get by killing me, your killer has already been born."

Krishn killed Kans when he was about 14 years old.

Devakee's Sons
According to Bhaagvat Puraan, 10/u30, Devakee, after knowing that Krishn was Bhagavaan and He brought dead son of His Guru back, requested Him to show her her dead sons once. So Krishn and Balaraam went to Bali in Sutal Lok, and said to him - "In Swaayambhuv Manvantar, Prajaapati Mareechi's wife Oornaa gave birth to six sons. They all were Devtaa. They laughed at seeing Brahmaa Jee ready for physical relationship with His daughter. Because of this Brahmaa Jee gave Shaap to them. And they were born as Hiranyakashyap's sons. Now Yog Maayaa kept them in Devakee's womb and Kans killed them as they were born. Daity Raaj!  Mother Devakee is very sad and wants to see them, and they are with you. Therefore we will take them to our mother to please her. After that they will be free from Shaap and will go to their Lok. Their names are Smar, Ugdeeth, Parishwang, Patang, Kshudramrit and Ghrini. They will again get good Gati with my favor."
*******************************************

According to
These six sons were the sons of Kaalnemi and they were devotee of Vishnu, that is why Hiranyakashyap gave them Shaap that "You will be killed by your father only." Since Kaalnemi incarnated as Kans, and those six sons were born as Devakee's sons, they were killed by their father (Kans) only.
