| Love Lorn PG-13 (chapter 1) By Relena Maxwell Disclaimer: I don't own Gundam Wing n' never did, let alone will. The only thing I own in this story is the plot line, the new Gundams, and all the new 'spiffy' characters! AN: This is my first REAL fan fiction ever, so please be gentle if you review. N' I would like to thank Lita-sama for giving me the inspiration to finally get my ideas on paper, and cheering me on along the way. She's so nice! ^_^ Story Info: This story takes place 5 years after Endless Waltz, everybody is 21, except Trowa's 23, Catherine and Sally are 25, and Lady Une, Noin, and Zechs are 27. Also, in my story, Catherine is Trowa's BIOLOGICAL older sister. ******************** Sanq Kingdom Palace, March 19, AC 201, 10:17 A.M. (Relena's P.O.V.) "If I didn't know any better, I'd say the government officials are trying to kill me with this work load!" I slammed my fist on my cherry wood desk with the ut-most aggravation. For the last year people have finally decided to put the Mars Terra Forming project into action. Well that was all fine and dandy, but isn't there anyone else in the world they find important enough to deliver these papers to? I know I might be acting selfish, when I know perfectly well how much mankind needs to find more homes for themselves. Otherwise our great amount of people born every day, natural recourse needs, and desire to own more than one has, will destroy Earth. But really, can't they give a girl a break? I believe I can answer that myself: NO. Damn government officials, damn them all. The sound of a creaking door woke me from my thoughts, "Yes?" I said as I looked up expectantly, my face turning to it's normal mask I showed all those around me. A care free smile. Paygen gave a slight bow then said, "Ms. Relena, there's a call for you. I believe it's Lady Une. She said it was quite urgent." "Thank you Paygen, I'll get right on it." My chipper voice sounded so wrong in my head while Paygen just smiled back behind his gray mustache. Bowed, then simply left the room. I pushed my golden locks behind my right ear, then pressed the blue button on my phone, the face of Lady Une appearing on my screen. "It's nice to see you Ms. Une, hope you're having a good morning." I really should win some sort of acting award, I can give a dazzling smile on the outside, while on the inside I feel horrible. Maybe if I never became a Vice Foreign Minister, acting would have been my calling... "And it's always great to see you as well Relena, I'm hear to talk to you about your new body guard..." "Oh yes, almost completely forgot. How is the recruiting going down there as HQ?" "Very well actually, we had a vast number of recommended officers, but one in particular stood out above all others." She said this with a glint in her eye. And I noticed it. Whenever someone speaks to me with that look they either want to A. poison me (which I HIGHLY doubt Ms. Une would ever do), or B. if the matter concerned Heero. Everyone still loved to tease me about me and my infatuation with him when I was a teenager. And everyone knew how much that annoyed the both of us. "You hired Heero didn't you Ms. Une." My voice was now contained a cold and dry tone, to actually have Heero by my body guard would actually be a distraction. I know I might sound like the "Perfect Soldier" himself, but it was true. I was never TRULEY and entirely in love with him... Well, maybe at one point in time during the war, but that's all in the past. Memories I try very hard to forget. "You sound disappointed Princess, I would have thought you to have enjoyed him to accompany you from place to place from now on." When she said this her eyes looked a bit sad. I suppose she thought this new job of Heero's would make me jump for joy, sing a song, or at least smile. Not this time. As I said before... Heero Yuy = Distraction = Bad. Plus I seriously doubt Heero was taking this job on his own free will. Seriously. For a couple seconds, my facade was cleared off my face. I'll bet Lady Une just witnessed the true appearance of the famous past Queen of the World (and still referred to it). It really must have been an ugly sight. I really didn't like having Ms. Une's feelings hurt, or Heero getting pushed into this. Why couldn't Lady Une just have hired some random guy named Bob? That would have saved us all a lot of grief. Unless... What I could do is accept Ms. Une's offer, this way I could use this as a test of mind. You see, I could test myself to not be affected by Heero and my own past, and act dignified as possible, without a mistake. It would be wonderful training of my personal will, and practice for intimidating officials at higher statures of my own. It could be my own mind game. I always thought I needed to get around to playing a witty game like chess. Only this one's different, concerning live people. More acting performances for me. I squared my shoulders, finally coming to my decision, "Ms. Une," I said with a bold tone. "Yes Relena?" She said with a look of intrigue displayed her face. "I accept Heero as my new body guard. Tell him he can start work in a week's time. I'll come to pick him up from the Preventer Base at 4:30 P.M. on the dot." I gave once again a smile that could melt a glacier. "That's great Relena! I'll notify him right away. Over an out." She did a salute, and smiled on her leave. The screen went black. I chuckled to myself, for such a strict officer (going by Duo's opinion), Une surely does like her "cupid work".... Of course that's what she thinks. As soon as I see Heero, I'll act in the most dignified and polite way possible. No emotional screw ups, I mean, that's how you have to be when you play a "simple" game of chess with a Gundam pilot. ********************* AN: So.... That's the end of chapter one... now could you PLEASE make a girl happy and go review? I'd REALLY love it if ya did!!! *^^* |
