| Love Lorn PG-13 (chapter 2) By Relena Maxwell Disclaimer: It doesn't make sense to have to make a disclaimer, because A. I have no money, B. I'm just a teen, I don't own a big organization, and C. If I did own GW this story wouldn't be fiction. It would be real! MWAHAHAHAHA!! (collects composure) But I do own the plot line, new characters, and new Gundams! That's for sure. AN: I know it might seem like this story is just gonna be a little Heero saves Relena thing, but it ain't! It's FAR from that (it isn't even a 1xR.... Well mostly anyway... ;). The story gets really deep, so please don't give up on me now. Just keep on reading. And please review with your comments on the story! Feedback makes the fan fiction world go round! (kinda anyway...) ^_^;;; ************************************** Preventer Base, March 26, AC 201, 4:22 P.M. (Duo's P.O.V.) It was a normal day at work. Well, as normal as it can get when you have your chief officer barking out orders to you to start working. I've tried to hide in different offices to talk to people, but Lady Une always spots me. Sometimes it makes me wonder if she has eyes in the back of her head, or in her ears for that matter. Well, I'll just have to ignore her. I have a certain "Perfect Soldier" yet to annoy, I mean, after what I found out from Trowa, who could resist.... If only I could find the un-grateful idiot. He's probably working away in his office. Maybe if I sneak up on him while he's working, I could scare him, and make him spill his coffee. So with that idea in mind, I walked to his door through the jungle of cubicles. I turned the door handle. It silently opened, I crept in, all the while the 007 theme song playing in my head. I was right behind his chair, hands ready to 'attack'. Then suddenly, "What are you doing in here Duo? Aren't you supposed to be working?" Damn. He noticed me. I dropped my hands to my sides, and ran a hand through my chestnut bangs. "Well buddy old pal, I heard from Trowa you weren't going with us to Mars to check up on Terra Forming project. I just had to come in and make sure you were all right... I mean, you, Mr. Heero Yuy, refuse a mission! That's just as impossible as Quatre walking around with a rifle attacking everyone in sight man! It's just not natural!" He turned around and looked at me with that famous glare of his. "Duo, I know you wouldn't have come in here just to check on me. You'd rather be chasing the secretaries around the building. So spill now, or leave, I have things to do." I put my hands up in surrender, "Fine, fine, all I wanted to say was that Jousan will be coming here to speak with you." "That's great Duo," he said flatly as he walked towards the door, "but now you need to go." "All right! Don't appreciate me! I'll just be goi-" I stopped talking as I looked at his computer. On his laptop he had an e-mail open, and it plainly said: Yuy- Thank you for volunteering to protect the Vice Foreign Minister. She seemed very pleased with the idea. She'll be arriving at 4:30 p.m. to pick you up, and then you'll both go back to the Sanq Kingdom palace. From there, all you need to do is accompany her to all of her meetings, appointments, balls, etc. Just keep a watchful eye. -Une I couldn't believe my eyes. Heero- the man with no supposed feeling actually WANTED to protect Relena? This was too rich... "Hey Heero, ya finally admit you couldn't stay away from the powder puff forever!" He finally saw what I was reading and closed his laptop. "And to think, you actually VOLUNTEERED for the job! I can't bele-". I couldn't finish what I had to say, Heero had me pinned to the wall by my shirt collar. "Duo, the only reason I am protecting Relena is because I made a promise to her that I always will. I am a man of my word, that is all." He said through clenched teeth. "If that's all your doing, then why is it a big deal that I know? Unless there are some feelings involved with this mission..." I couldn't help it, a sly smile soon crossed my face. But as the barrel of a gun met my temple, I was quiet. Considering the fact the he was a trained assassin, and I was in a not so good position to protect myself, I knew when to shut up. He looked at me with his hard 'glare of doom' as if to say, "You tell anyone, you die." I just did a big gulp, in a cowardly response, as if I was saying, "All right...." He then let go of me. when my feet touched the floor, I let out a sigh of relief. I straitened my tie, and uncrumpled my Preventer's uniform. As I was about to open the door he gave me the very same look as before. "Ok, man, I get the picture, I won't tell anyone 'bout your new assignment!" I barked with a very annoyed tone. As soon as I took one step out of the door frame I had yet another gun pointed at me. I looked at the wielder of the gun and saw a head of platinum blond, and turquoise eyes. It was Quatre. "Oh Duo, sorry, I' m getting a bit jumpy today." He lowered his gun only for me to realize it was a newly polished rifle. "Um.... Yeah... Quatre. Just be more careful with that thing..." "I will!" He said brightly as he walked down the opposite direction of the hall. I started walking to the front desk to meet Relena, but then I heard a crash of porcelain. I turned to see Quatre with his rifle clutched in one hand, and the other behind his head trying to apologize for making Wufei drop his coffee, and get it splattered all over his pants. "INJUSTICE!" Wufei yelled as he glowered at Quatre. "YOU WILL TAKE MY UNIFORM TO THE DRY CLEANERS ONNA!" "Sorry Wufei.... I just got finished with an assignment to capture this one gang of old White Fang members with Sally, and I'm still a bit in attack mode.... Sorry." "You should be!" With that, Wufei pushed Quatre into the wall on his rush to the men's bathroom. Leaving Quatre to clean up the mess. It was really messed up how a little fruity guy like Quatre could make someone spill their coffee, and I never even got to the part of making the person look angry. Well, I guess it kinda makes sense... Quatre had a rifle. Wait a second, Quatre, rifle, attack! That's just what I.... Oh hell, I need to lay off the Java. ***************** AN: I wish, I wish, oh, shooting star, give me some reviews, they're needed by far! >:-O |
