Yusuke Urameshi:
Yusuke is the default leader of the Poltergeist Report team. With his super powerful Spirit Gun and kick-ass martial arts, no one can stand in his way.

14-years-old, he is the worst student at Sarayashiki Junior High. He gets terrible grades, skips class, and has little respect for authority. Yusuke has the reputation of being the toughest kid in town. But despite his killer rep, Yusuke is misunderstood. His home life is troubled. As such, Yusuke is generally pretty miserable. Only after being assigned the job of Spiritual Detective does Yusuke truly begin to find his place in life.

After waking from the deep slumber brought on by Genkai's training, Yusuke springs into action against the leader of Team Rokuyukai in a winner take all Knife Edge Deathmatch. Yusuke must use his head in a fight where the first to fall loses the match, and their life.

Hiei and the Masked Fighter are trapped. Kurama is unconscious. Kuwabara is critically injured. The odds are stacked against him as he steps into the ring against an opponent that he actually respects. Under different circumstances Jin and Yusuke could be allies... but in the Dark Tournament defeat means certain death.

In an attempt to learn the secret behind Genkai's power, Yusuke follows her into the woods. There Yusuke must endure his final test... to determine if he is worthy enough to harness the power of the incredible Spirit Orb. Success means unimaginable power, but failure means a slow, painful death.

Shortly before the finals, Genkai passed her power on to her student. She knows this is the only way Yusuke stands a chance against Toguro. But unless Yusuke can also absorb the loss of his mentor, his trial will prove fruitless and his team will pay the ultimate price.

With the final match of the Dark Tournament set to begin, Yusuke has never been so focused. Luckily, Genkai passed all her energy to her prodigy or else Toguro would surely mow him down. Staring down the hulking brute, Yusuke reveals that the fight has become more than about winning... it's become personal.

With Toguro easily deflecting Yusuke's attacks, all hope seems lost for the Spirit Detective. As if taking a beating isn't enough, his best friend lies dying right before his eyes. With a new understanding of just what Toguro has become, Yusuke is overcome with strength he could never have imagined.

After finally learning about the classification of demons, Yusuke learns that the tunnel will be fully opened in a matter of weeks. If a B-Class demon like Toguro nearly destroyed him, can the Spirit Detective stand up against the power of demons that dwarfs even the mighty Toguro?

Finally Spirit Detective Yusuke Urameshi meets former Spirit Detective Shinobu Sensui with the fate of Living World in the balance. Despite Sensui's immense power, Yusuke senses something fake about the Dark Angel. The key to victory is to exploit it... if only Yusuke knew what "it" was.

Upon reaching Sensui's lair, Yusuke is met with a dangerous proposal. If he defeats Kuwabara wil be set free. If he loses, so does all of Living World! As if a battle with Gourmet wouldn't be gruesome enough, awaiting him is none other than Sensui. Is a Spirit Detective showdown inevitable?

His last name translates to "bay rice." It is a homonym for a Urameshi, meaning "hateful and bitter." A literal reading of Yusuke is "ghost helper." Therefore Yusuke's full name translates to "hateful and bitter ghost helper"

Yuu Kaitou:
Second only to Kurama in scholastic achievement, Kaitou's hatred for his soft spoken classmate borders on the insane. Kaitou has the power of Taboo. He can designate any word as taboo. If someone utters the taboo word or sound, their soul becomes his property.

Kaitou is the natural choice to face Game Master in a multiple-choice quiz game. The thought that Kaitou could lose against a child in a battle of brainpower borders on the absurd. But in Game Master's territory the impossible is a harsh reality.

Opening Song - Smile Bomb:
Running in a crowd
in a faceless town,
I need to feel the touch of a friend,
In the countryside
I wander far and wide,
the isolation gets me again,
I don't know where to go,
when I feel like crying oh my;
it's time to open myself,
do something new,
I want to stop- and grow up a bit.
Then suddenly my power and confidence
starts swelling up magically erupt,
and it's all because
of kindness that I feel,
from people I don't even know.
Then suddenly my intuation and
my wisdom grow and then I know,
that most of all I sense copassions
wield into strangers wherever I go.
Thank you for waking me up.

Opening - Oiriginal Smile Bomb:
In the crowded city, rubbing shoulders
with strangers, you still feel all alone.
As wind blows in the endless field,
you still feel alone.

Which place makes you cry?
You think they both do,
and feel like you're grown up.

The real, hard goal becomes
all of sudden...
So easy to break through because...
Those difficult people show me...
...a little tenderness, I guess.

Thank you very much!

Closing Song - The Homework Doesn't End:
The pointed second hand
counts down the life I lead,
Marking off my legacy of worldly deeds,
Tick, Tock, Tick
Constantly I think of
things I can't complete,
Well, it's time to
throw them into the back seat...
Son of a gun.

Life's a fleeting dream, don't let it go...
Ya' gotta make the most of it you know,
Don't stop now, don't let it slip away,
Live it up while you can and don't delay,
For the fleeting dreams they never stay...

Closing Song - Sayonara Bye Bye:
Come feel my aching heart about to break,
The gentle wind that blows
fills the air with peacefulness,
We're standing face to face,
Hand in hand,
And then the evening twilight
drapes its arms around us,
And it melts away,
It's just so funny,
Your smiling face and mine,
They're not the same,
But for just right now it's as
though I'm looking in a mirror,
And everything is fine,
No sadness at all,
So now I draw the line
to live another journey,

'Cause even though we've been here together,
We're still different people,
But we're not alone,
Sayonara bye bye,
Please take care of yourself,

'Cause even though we've been here together,
We're still different people,
But we're not alone,
Sayonara bye bye,
Please take care of yourself.

Closing Song - Original Sayonara Bye Bye:
For the heart being forgotten...
The wind blows very gently.
We face eachother and hold our...
...hand in hand,
as the twilight melts down.

It's funny, it doesn't look like...
...our new smile.
I feel like watching the mirror.
I am not sad, I am having fun.
"Thank you" is buried
deep in my mind

Sayonara, bye-bye, be good.
This is what I started to say,
so please hear it.
Sayonara, bye-bye...
...be good.

Closing Song - Unbalanced Kisses:
Within the broken mirror,
I clearly see your reflection.
Tears roll down your face...
Tears roll down your face...
As your finger traces the
edge of the new moon.

Who is that I'm calling out to?
I can see you walk away from me.
Time and time again...
Time and time again...
You'll find me knocking at your door.

With my back pressed against
the weight of the world
and the speed of the night.
It felt as if a thread
was snapping in two
And I held on to you...
Held on to you...
Held on to you...
With all my might.

As you share an
unbalanced kiss with me,
I hope you can feel us
getting closer to love.
And may your fears and
your tearful deception
will come to rest in my heart.
Oh, my love.

Closing Song - The Sun Will Shine Again:
When my letter reaches you,
Please don't break the seal,
Just wait a little while,
Give it time to heal,

And I believe you'll understand,
Just exactly how I feel,
This is my last
and my most loving request,

With a restless innocence,
Our hearts began to race,
With one thing on our minds,
We foolishly embraced,

But now as twilight closes in,
I see you from a distant place,
And I wish for you all the
courage that you'll ever need,
To be your best!

And although it storms
and it's raining outside,
All the people of the city still
believe in the existence of the sun,

And a forgotten melody,
And the birds in our hands,
A life witout pain
is a life wihtout joy,
without fun!
