Browsing the Archive

Casual users should be able to browse the archive easily. Browsing will allow users to see what comes before and after a particular entry within the organization of the archive.

Access points for browsing should include:

  • title
  • location taken from
  • location of the image
  • photographer
  • collection name
  • subject
  • repository
  • date
An alphabetical browse should place the user in an ordered (alphabetical, chronological, etc.) list of items that includes thumbnails of each item and a short bibliographic record (title, photographer, and collection name, for instance).
