Searching the Archive

Searching by keyword is a necessity for effective use of the digital archive. A variety of access points and limits should be available for users to quickly and effectively find the items they seek.

Users should be able to perform keyword searches for:

  • title
  • location taken from
  • location of the image
  • photographer
  • collection name
  • subject
Available limits to the search should include:
  • date taken
  • date added to collection
  • image format
  • image size
  • repository
Results should be listed by 10s or 15s, in an organized order, with thumbnails of each item and a short bibliographic record (title and photographer, for instance).
