rose How To Do It All

Besides work, there's laundry, a lunch date, kids, friends, parties, email, cooking and cleaning. How is it that some people seem to be able to do it all? You may be able to, as well.

* Schedule. Plan what things you'll do each day, or set goals and deadlines. Make sure you schedule time for goofing off, for emergencies, and "just in case." Don't forget time to eat!

* Don't expect to be able to do EVERYthing. People who do either have way too much energy or are hiding something! Allow yourself the freedom of doing only a few things at a time.

* Keep yourself healthy. Make sure you get enough sleep, are drinking enough water, and exercise. Live a happy life and you'll have more motivation to do all you can and still be satisfied.

* Multitask. While the dryer runs, write on your shopping list or a favorite novel. Use a bus ride to exercise your neck, make a quick call, or catch up on the day's news.

* Delegate. Let other people do some of your work. Whether that means hiring out a maid or teaching your 8-year old how to do her own laundry, it's worth the extra time you save.

* Finally, set aside days when you DON'T optimize and do everything. In fact, try to do nothing. Those days will be like mini-vacations.
