rose Winter Blues

Winter blahs make you feel like doing nothing but curling up in bed. It's cold out, there's no sun, and spring is nowhere in sight. Don't give up on it, make the best use of this time.

* Let there be light! Turn on some lights in your house. They don't have to be energy-draining - light a few candles or lanterns, and give your home a romantic feel. If you have one of those inexpensive energy-saving bulbs that makes everything brighter, use it!

* Turn on some cheerful music. It doesn't have to be carols or holiday songs, but just anything that makes you feel like dancing and moving. Now get up and dance!

* Make yourself comfortable with a throw and a mug of hot chocolate. Sit by a fire if you have one. Forgo television and pick up a nice, happy book instead.

* If you must go and it's gloomy out, wear warm layers and take a brisk walk. It will wake you right up. * Don't get depressed. Spend time with other people to keep away the blues. Play games indoors that you might play outside (think - table tennis, pool, indoor bowling or bocce).

* Dressing comfortably doesn't have to mean sweats. Dress nicely and it'll make you feel good by itself. Some cool air will bring color to your lips and cheeks, and don't forget that smile!

* Get some exercise. Whether that means heading to the gym or just talking a walk (see above), it will get your circulation going and you'll feel warmer.
