Everyone makes resolutions. Now you can be the one who keeps them. It takes some patience, but not as much willpower as you may think: * Set realistic goals. Don't resolve things like "I won't eat any junk food" that you just know won't last more than a day. Modify existing goals if you like to say "Try to eat fruit for breakfast everyday." * Tell someone. Tell lots of people. Get some support for your realistic goal. Tell people at home and work - they'll notice if you skip your fruit at breakfast! Ask them to tell you when you slip. * Write it down. If it's something you really want to do (or not do!), make a note and carry it with you or tape it up where you can see it. * Re-evaluate. When it's the end of a week or month, see how far you've come. If you're doing a good job, pat yourself on the back, but don't use that as an excuse to eat a tub of ice cream! If you haven't kept it up, maybe you need to try harder or change your goal a little. Maybe you should just have a piece of fruit WITH breakfast. * Stick with it. Don't let people tell you it's not what you want or need, and don't let negative attitudes discourage you. Any goal you want to accomplish, you can. No one can do it for you, but you yourself can do anything!
