The cold or the flu can keep you feeling out of sorts just when the weather is getting better. But you can beat it with more than medicine. Be an April fool. Studies have shown that staying happy and thinking about getting better, by laughing and being cheerful actually boosts your immune system. So put on a big smile and drive those bugs away! Get your vitamins! Make sure you're getting your daily amounts of vitamins, especially vitamin C, which also helps immune cells. Eating lots of greens and fruits and veggies will get you antioxidants that help you fight from the inside. Help out your fever. Your fever's around to get the temperature right for your body to fight better. Drink nice warm liquids to help that out, and cover up. Call in the morning. Make sure you stay rested, because stress can aggravate illnesses. Be calm and get plenty of sleep. Just go to sleep when you're sleepy and you'll be your good old self in no time. |
