rose Helt the earth!

RECYCLE REDUCE REUSE. You've heard of these 3 new R's for a healthy planet. And sure, it's easy to leave the empty jugs and cartons outside, or return the grocery bags to the store. But there's more to recycling and conservation than that:

* You can start with reducing your consumption. That means don't use more water than you need. Switch to one-ply toilet paper or use less. Turn off the lights when you leave the room, and use the backsides of all paper BEFORE you recycle it! Stop the problem before it starts.

* Invest in recycled products. Recycled plastics, toilet paper, notebooks, all prevent a new tree from being cut down. Usually these things are more expensive, but think of it as investing in your future.

* Go online! Why get the paper delivered when you can read it online? You can save hundreds of trees just by doing so. The same goes for magazines and other print publications. You can always print out what you want to keep (on the back of a used sheet of paper!)

* Respect the earth. Avoid stepping on new grass after a rain, and don't crush the pretty flowers. Take a moment to appreciate the smell of clean air, and turn your money, efforts, and awareness to it. Showing others you live a clean, earth-friendly lifestyle and setting a good example for your children is the best way to teach conservation.
