Find yourself tossing and turning all night? A few important things may help your sleep. * Use a good pillow. Once that's too soft can hurt your neck - get a firm one that's tall and fluffy enough for you. Don't be afraid to try it out (with the plastic on) before you buy it. * If you have allergies, it's a good idea to raise your head higher than your body by a few inches. This will help prevent sneezing - also change pillow covers regularly. * For back problems, raise feet above the heart a few inches. Also use a small pillow at the small of your back if you lie on your back, and a pillow between the knees if you lie on your side. * Don't sleep on your front - it's terrible for your neck and back because you have to bend your neck sideways or stretch it back, and you may not be able to breathe. *Sleep at the same time each night, and wake up at the same time. A regular schedule will help you get to sleep and wake up. Give yourself enough sleep time. * If you can't sleep, just relax, close your eyes, and meditate or daydream. You may drift off after a while, but don't get frustrated and stressed out about your lack of sleep. Let it come naturally. |
