Getting the best price, the best deals on items you want or need used to be a hassle. You had to check the newspapers for sales, visit the different stores to comparison shop, clip coupons and then finally take it home, only to find a better deal a week later. Now in the Internet era, it's much easier to find the price you want for things you want to buy. * Start by knowing what you want. Get an idea of the prices, the most recommended ones, and do your research. If you're buying a digital camera, know that you can expect to pay more than $50 for a good one! Know what resolution and features you want, so you'll know a good price when you see it. Do more research at Consumer Reports or other online sources. * Compare prices. Websites like My Simon, NexTag offer price comparisons so you can find out what the latest greatest deal is on an item you want. * Shop at the right time. Stores usually have sales at the end of seasons, so look for summer clearances, and sales after the new year. Look also for times when old inventory is marked down to make room for the new. * Look for return policies. Many stores also offer you the option of your money back even AFTER you buy, if you find a better deal. Find out about this before you hand them your money, and you could end up with a better deal in the end than even what you paid!
