Don't you wish you were that wonderful person who wished everyone on their birthdays and bought the perfect gift? Wouldn't you like to be the one to remember their 7th anniversary when everyone else seems to have forgotten? You can, and it's not going to require an amazing memory or insane amounts of time. * To keep track of dates, get a blank calendar. Write out to everyone asking for their birthdays, addresses, and anniversaries. Find out years as well as month and day. (Use the excuse of "updating your addressbook" if you must!). Mark all the dates in your calendar, or better yet, use one like on Yahoo! that will send you reminders. You can also simply make a document table and list all the important dates by month and day (with the year). * Make a backup copy of your list for home and for work or wherever you spend your time. You might also want a small copy for your wallet or bag. * To send real cards, stock some cards. Use blank notecards with envelopes or use a sale to stock up on a particular category (like birthday cards). Make sure you have the right size envelopes, a supply of stamps and return address labels or a stamper. If you've got the time and talent, use a rainy day to make up some quick cards by hand. * If you prefer to send cards by email, find a site you like that has a good selection. Some good options: Hallmark, Yahoo! Greetings, or Blue Mountain. Or make your own card with your own image here. * If you send holiday cards, use the opportunity to label an extra envelope for every one you send out. Better yet, type in all your addresses on the computer and print them out on label paper. You'll never have to hand-write an address again (and easy updating too!) * At the beginning of each month, or whenever you have time, write out cards for each person who has an upcoming birthday. Label the card with address, return address, and stamp. Send it out when the birthday nears or at the beginning of the month. They'll be so grateful you remembered! * When choosing gifts, keep a supply of all-purpose gifts on hand. These can be pretty coasters, beautiful soaps, candles, a book you liked, even attractive items around the home you know they would like. Wrap in newspaper with a pretty bow or even just a simple paper you have. Whenever you come across a gift you think someone will like - stock up! Then deliver when your calendar reminds you!
