Races

The races in Remelia generally share the same names as their Tolkienesque counterparts; however, in this world it is important to notice certain features about the races that set them apart from the usual archetypes. The racial guidelines set forth here are not meant to be strict or abided by at all times, since realistically there are vast variations in appearance, behavior, and mindset within a given race. These racial descriptions therefore represent trends, not rules, that can be helpful when creating characters or interacting with others in the game.

Humans Remelian humans share the same basic physical characteristics as their Earth counterparts. However, superficial physical qualities are a little different (Remelian humans have a larger range of colors present in their eyes and hair, for example). Significantly non-human physical traits such as having wings or claws are not heard of in this world.

The most important thing to remember about Remelian humans is that they are generally detested among the races. They are most reputable for their thieves, corrupt governments, and violent nature. Although it is true that humans are most prone to ill-doing than the other major races, this is partly due to stereotype, and is not always fact. Also, a human visiting a foreign land might not be especially well-received, but within his or her own culture there is no unusual level of distrust beyond what is normal.

Elves Elves just rule. And we mean that literally.

Dwarves Remelian dwarves are kinda messed up.

Faeries Faeries come in two varieties: light and dark, just like mages.
