Courtney Brown took an eight day remote viewing course taught by Psi Tech, and subsequently created his own remote viewing institute - Farsight, teaching SRV. (Scientific Remote Viewing)
Courtney authored a book titled "Cosmic Voyage". In it, Brown describes the alien life teaming throughout the universe.
One of his students, Prudence Calabrese, became the webmaster of his website.
From an announcement posted on his web site in 1997:

approaching when we will have incredible choices to make. Soon we will
be interacting with extraterrestrials from far away places. Will we be
too afraid to extend our hands in friendship? One thing is certain - the
future is not fixed, and we have the ability to change it. What we have
been viewing is a world filled with fear and hatred. When the ET event
happens, the world is seen being thrown into global chaos. The visitors
that trigger this reaction know that humanity is on an edge - one side
is ready to fall back into familiar territory where power and control
rule. The other side is ready to experience an internal growth so
profound that we wouldn't even recognize the beings we could become.
What Are the Events? Many people know that Extraterrestrials exist. They have been visited by beings from other worlds, they have read accounts from scientists studying the UFO phenomenon, or they just believe that we are not alone in the Universe. The question that those who are skeptical ask is "Why don't they just fly out in the open so everyone can see them?" It's a good question, one that has no answer we humans can give. Very soon, the President of the United States will address the Nation. He will tell us that Extraterrestrial life exists - not merely bacteria from Mars, but living, sentient beings. It will be a very difficult speech to give. There is no way to predict how a world will react to the undeniable fact that we have been visited by strangers from another planet. But that is not all... The events that we have viewed tell us that one day soon the visitors from somewhere else will fly openly in our skies. They will make themselves known, not because any one of us humans requests it, but because there are beings in trouble living on our planet. Our Martian story told how a volcano would erupt, and endanger the lives of Martians living on our planet. We have viewed what happens next, and it is amazing. Ships will appear, flown by the group of Extraterrestrials that we call the "Greys." They will rescue as many Martians and humans as they can from the disaster. The whole world will see." |
They also made claims about the "Galactic Federation" and Buddha:

As strange as it may seem, remote viewers have consistently found that a personality connected with the human who was Buddha is currently serving in an administrative position on the Galactic Council, the apparent administrative governing body of the Galactic Federation. As far as we can determine, this personality actually was Buddha when he was a physical being. This person seems to be our (human) contact person whenever we remote view the Galactic Federation Headquarters. " |
Dr. Brown and his webmaster-turned-V.P. Prudence Calabrese later became involved in a notorious hoax in 1997 when (according to Brown and Calabrese) a "Top Ten University Professor" started contacting them and telling them about a "companion" object which was following the Hale Bopp comet. This "professor" provided what he claimed to be photographic evidence of the existence of the companion.
Calabrese and Brown, after remote viewing the object in the photo, claimed that this companion was a giant space ship filled with benevolent aliens who were coming to earth to better mankind.
Prudence and Courtney Brown went on the Art Bell Show, continually stating that they knew the identity of this professor but that they could not identify him until he was ready.
In the end, it was proven that the photographs of this alleged "companion" were hoaxed and it was likely that the remote viewing data produced by these two was flawed. The "Top Ten University Professor" was never identified, with Brown stating that he would not identify him because he was afraid of possible litigation.
On April 11, 1997, Courtney Brown claimed that elements of the U.S. government were after him:
| "The Farsight Institute, as well as the professional lives of the principal players at the Institute, have been under constant attack from a well orchestrated campaign against us since January of this year. The preparations for these coordinated attacks were initiated in the latter part of 1996. Those who are executing this concerted opposition against us are members of a small group in a larger U.S. governmental intelligence agency. We can supply you with more information about this agency, but we think either you already know this information or you can find this out by yourselves. This group lacks significant supervisorial oversight, and they are engaged in blatantly illegal activity against us. They have been assigned the task of disbanding us through whatever means is necessary. Their initial strategies involved clever operations to discredit us, but they have recently activated much more serious plans. Again, we can supply a great deal more information about this agency and its activities to someone in an official capacity should it be necessary or desired." |
Prudence Calabrese left and formed "Transdimensional Systems."
In 2001, when Prudence claimed to have remote viewed the WTC attack, back in 1997, Courtney could not remember such an occurrence and claimed that he never once saw her World Trade Center sessions that she now claims were on the Farsight web site. She says that she worked the target in 1997 and that they are real. In a public BB post in September of 2001, Courtney Brown stated:
| Subject: Pru's NYC/WTC Session -- Some help needed, please. "When I looked at the session yesterday, I was quite surprised because I do not ever remember seeing that session before. Pru was a novice viewer in early 1997, but this session appears to be a technically flawless session, filled with very high-level data that are very rare for even experienced remote viewers, and I think I would have remembered such a session done by a new viewer. I then looked through all of the stuff that I have relating to potential terrorism in New York that was posted in 1997 on the Institute's web site (six sessions, one by Pru - a different one), and I could not find anything at all relating to the currently posted session anywhere. Pru mentions that the raw data were posted on the web site, but actually, only my summaries of data, plus scans of sketches were presented, at least to my knowledge and according to my records." |
