Freewheel'n - October, 98

Here we are approaching the end of another cycling season! This year has gone by so surprising ly fast...difficult to believe that Autumn is now upon us. Perhaps you share these thoughts...I am already thinking about 1999!

Say...I did promise to tell you how RePete came about that name. To answer we need to go back al long time ago when the road bike roamed the surface of this planet as king. Now, there were knights known as Dewey Parker, Bob Basich, Dan Flynn, Art Gottwald, Gordon Mann, Norm Haber, Dave Kasper, Lionel Steward and...Pete Sorge. Along came another Pete who was welcomed into the kingdom of the SJW. Having two named Pete did cause problems in the land. The subjects needed a genie for help and they traveled to the castle of Schoeberlein. After listening to their plight the wizard spoke, "Let one be know as RePete!"

Now centuries past as they do with both Pete and RePete becoming very recognizable. Then one day Pete vanished leaving only RePete. The subjects wondered what had happened. Where was Pete? "Yes, I will search for him," said RePete. Then the journey began...
