Skidplates on front frame |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
The skidplates are made from .375x4 inch plate and have a half round 1.5 inch tube welded under them to allow them to slide on anything they might come in contact with. The plate has been contoured to the front of the body on both sides only....the last pictures show this well.....they won't stand out so much when painted. |

The contoured front can be seen here..this is the passenger side. The mounting is done with 5/8 bolts. |

Although not too clear, the plates hang down about one inch from the body. |

Sticks out about 1/2 inch on the front and follows the lines well. |

I left about 1/4 inch between the plates and the body. When I jacked up the car by the skid plate it lifted about 3/16 as the weight transfered to the front frame. I'm not particularly worried because none of the mounting bolts were torqued and two of the mounting bolts were missing from the lower arms at the rear. I'm sure this will help protect the front of the car from speed bumps etc. |
