Deserter's from the Battle of Resaca, Ga.

Alabama:

Goodwin, William H. - Sgt. Co. L 28th. Ala. Deserted 05/15/1864 at Resaca, Ga. Took Oath of allegiance and sent north of the Ohio River until the end of the war.

Curtis, Thomas W. - Pvt., Semple's Battery Ala. Artillery - Transferred from Company B, 16th Alabama, October 9/63.  Deserted May 15/64 near Resaca.  Captured May 16/64 near   Resaca.  Died Dec 25/64 at Camp Douglas, IL as a prisoner of war by Typhoid fever.

Georgia:

Pvt. T. W. Elders,  Co. D 23rd. Ga., Deserted March 8,1864. Received at Resaca, Ga. as a deserter May 15, 1864.  Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Govt. at Chattanooga, Tenn. May 25,1864.

Pvt. Francis Marion Turner, Co. B 39th. Ga., Listed as Confederate Deserter at Resaca May 17, 1864. Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Govt. at Louisville, Ky. and released to remain north of the Ohio River during the war May 30, 1864.

4th. Sgt. T. S. Strickland,  Co. E 40th. Ga., Deserted at Resaca, Ga. May 1864. Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Govt. at Louisville, Ky. May 10, 1864, and again at Nashville, Tn. May 28, 1864, and released to remain north   of Ohio River during war, May 26, 1864.

Pvt. Milton Lackey, Co. E 40th. Ga., wounded in right shoulder at Resaca May 1864, records shows he Deserted after May and was received as a Confederate deserter Louisville, Ky. June 9, 1864, Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Govt. and was released June 10, 1864.

Pvt. John  P. Hatchett, Co. H 40th. Ga., Deserted at Resaca, Ga. May 15, 1864. Took oath of allegiance to U. S.  Govt. at Chattanooga, Tenn. November  25, 1864.

Louisiana:

Pvt. Stephen A. Myers, 5th. Co. Washington Artil. of New Orleans, La. Deserted at Resaca, Ga. May 15, 1864.

Mississippi:

Pvt. Walker K. Thompson, Stanfords Ms. Arty Battery, Listed as Deserter at Resaca, Ga.,Took  Roll of Deserters- May 21, 1864  Oath of Allegience- May 25, 1864 at Chattanooga, Tn.
