About me

I am within three years of my retirement, and as I look back over my work history, I take pride in the number of divesified careers I have enjoyed. I enjoyed the humor of the following as it sums up some of my thoughts towards work and where it can take us.
  • My first job was working in an orange juice factory, but I got canned ... couldn't concentrate.
  • Then I worked in the woods as a lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the ax.
  • After that I tried to be a tailor, but I just wasn't suited for it.
  • Then I decided to become a Travel Agent, but I found the work too foreign.
  • Next I tried working in a muffler factory but that was exhausting.
  • I tried working as a retail store manager but I was always losing the inventory.
  • Next was a job in a shoe factory; I tried but I just didn't fit in.
  • I became a professional fisherman, but discovered that I couldn't live on my net income.
  • I tried becoming a consultant but no-one would listen to me.
  • I managed to get a good job working for a pool maintenance company, but the work was just too draining.
  • I tried politics once, but since I could only be truthful, my downfall was inevitable, and I didn't last long.
  • So then I got a job in a gymnasium, but they said I wasn't fit for the job.
  • I got a job as a historian until I realized there was no future in it.
  • Just for the html of IT, I tried web design but I kept forgetting my (java) script .
  • I finally landed a job as a teacher but they said I had no class.
  • So I am now considering retiring, because I think I would be perfect for that job!

He reveals all his unconventional tips, trick and techniques with examples so you can learn most efficient and fastest way to make money on the Internet.
  3. AssociTrack Software Ok, the time has come. If you don't get on the Associate Program 'bandwagon' now, you are going to be left behind. This is the next business revolution of the Internet... I am not kidding! Be prepared, in the next 12 month, to see some of the biggest names on the Internet get heavily involved in Associate Programs because they are going to realize finally what they are missing. Some have already noticed and have implemented such programs.
  4. 3D ATLAS ONLINE (books) Most companies promoting CD-ROMs on the Web offer only the most rudimentary samplings of a disc's content, hoping to entice visitors into purchasing the product. Here is a different marketing approach by the well-known mapmaker 3D Atlas. They are pitching a CD-ROM as well; but this site offers so much extra content that a visit is well worthwhile. Select the country you want to learn more about, and 3D Atlas supplies commentary on the country, and copious links to other sites that offer maps and more info. Topping off its offerings with an exhaustive glossary, 3D Atlas has created a worthy port of call for surfers navigating unmapped cyberspace. It is worth the visit even if you are not interested in buying.
  5. Travel & Transportation Market Research Data Travel and Transportation Industry Business and Consumer Market Research Data for the U.S. including consumer travel preferences, expenditures and competitive analyses.
  6. Games by IDGTo help market their magazines IDG, which publishes more than 250 magazines and Web sites worldwide has just launched Games.net, an exhaustive gaming hub. Taking full advantage of IDG publications like PC Gamer and PC World, Games.net offers hardware reviews (joysticks, videocards, systems, etc.) as well as oft-updated news, interviews, game reviews, and (of course) downloads. As you explore its well-organized type-of-game categories, you'll discover loads of action, sports, and strategy games and plenty more. The site could use an "About Games.net" primer (including a FAQ section) to help out gaming newbies.
  7. Bob DylanTo help market his first collection of new music in seven years Dylan has created an official site that reflects his new outlook. Critics the world 'round are nearly unanimous in their praise of Bob Dyaln's new album, Time Out of Mind. And with good reason the work is an instant classical look at mortality and loss, the kind only an artist as worldly as Dylan can provide. Trace Dylan's history through personal accounts, an exhaustive discography, or the archived lyrics of his entire catalog. What's more, every song is accompanied by a RealAudio sample. Some songs are sampled in their entirety, and you'll also find RealAudio live tracks available nowhere else.
  8. Information NowYou run a small business--or a small department of a larger business and you just don't have the budget to hire sales or marketing specialists. You could hire a marketing consultant, but after a few months of that, you won't have the budget for anything else. Or you could plod forward on your own, marketing by the seat of your pants and missing who knows how many opportunities. At this site ou can find quick, plain-English "courses" on sales and marketing theory and practice, which can teach you the basics, bring you up to speed on marketing lingo, and maybe even inspire a few ideas of your own. Read the two sample courses and, if you like them register. It's free, or if time is an issue and you need a Marketing Specialist on a term or contract basis email me
  9. Magic Graphs for Marketing ManagersYou've got all the data you need to make your quarterly sales presentation. The only problem: Sales weren't that much better. In fact, they were only a few bucks better. Plot this small growth on a typical bar chart, and it hardly looks like growth at all. How can you prevent this from being the most anticlimactic sales presentation of all time? With a MAGICAL GRAPH, a graph that makes your small gain look REALLY, REALLY BIG. For details on how to create such a chart, Scroll down to the Magical Graph section and find the devious chart type that best suits your needs. If you have time, peruse the rest of this page, too. Lots of it may be over your head, but a few things, like the "Kevin Bacon Game" and "Law of Averages Thinking," you can use to show up your coworkers periodically.(The above has been written with tongue in cheek to get your attention, there is some good solid information on this page to help prepare your presentations correctly)
  10. LI>eMarketer, There are lots of e-marketing resources on the Web, and many of them are very good. But what we liked about eMarketer, at was the length of many of the articles: SHORT. In our wonderfully brief visit, we found terrific short features on e-business ethics (did you know that 13 percent of workers surveyed admitted to using company computers for personal shopping?), current events (including information on the legal validity of online confessions), and even polls (where, for example, you can choose which industry pundit you think has estimated the correct volume of e-business that will be transacted in the year 2000). If you have a little more time, no problem--you'll also find in-depth features, such as eMarketer's continually updated list of the ten best business sites online. This is a good, fast resource for anyone interested in selling online--and from the look of things, we all had better get interested.

  15. SONICNET Most music-scene hipsters are well aware of SonicNet, one of the pioneering music news, commentary, and lifestyle zines on the Web. Earlier this year, SonicNet partnered with conglomerate du jour, TCI. The fruits of this labor have just fallen from the tree: a freshly designed Web site with a cleaner look, easier navigation, and promised new features. Currently in a soft-launch (usually a euphemism for a past-deadline project that must put something up to appease investors), SonicNet still culls its news and reviews from its sister station, Addicted to Noise, but also offers Streamland (a video-on-demand section) and an as-yet-unveiled section, "The Station." We'll keep checking back to see what "upper six figures" will get you in a relaunch these days.
  16. The ZineZone Some cyberhipsters would have you believe that to truly maximize your Web experience, you must be privy to a secret password--which, of course, the in-crowd would never give you. The ZineZone gives access to over 350 separate "magazines," each topic-specific, consisting of articles culled and edited from multiple online sources.
