Max sat on a bench right in the middle of Omega City Square, and gazed up towards the sky. It was dark, like it always was in this city, ever since the accident. No stars lit the sky… Not even the moon was present.
Max had not seen human life for a few days now, although there were always zombies and many other creatures to bother him. Just a few hours ago he had dealt with some pestering zombies with relative ease, and two days before he had taken out five cerberus’, using only one bullet on each. This place was changing him… Changing him into a killing machine, something he had never wanted to be. Of course he had done bad things in the past, one of the main reasons he had been recruited from prison by Umbrella to hunt down their creatures. He had hurt and robbed people before, but he had never felt the same as he did now, like killing was a natural thing to him.
He looked down at the dirty floor. There was nothing but concrete and bits of newspaper there. He heard a cry in the distance, and the howling of an insanely deformed creature, created out of some madman’s brutal mind.
‘It was their fault…Umbrella… They created these creatures…Now I have to deal with them.’, He thought to himself.
‘Why did I even agree to come here???’
He dipped his right hand into his pocket to find something to eat. His finger twitched as it came into contact with his sub-machine gun’s trigger.
‘I need to kill…But I don’t want to…’
He quickly removed his hand from his pocket and leant his head upon it. He sat in silence for over ten minutes, thinking about a way to escape from this damn city. But as he thought, images flicked across his mind, one by one, detailing the monsters he had killed, the people he had attacked just to survive.
‘It was them or me…’ he thought.
He then seemed to disagree with himself, repeating in his mind what he had just thought again.
‘It was THEM or ME…’ …… Max was losing it.
‘AARRGGHH…… What the hell is this city doing to me???’, He screamed out loud. He was not expecting a reply, but he got one, in the form of a tranquilizer dart. It zipped through the air, landing in his back and staying there. It’s contents emptied rapidly into his bloodstream.
It did not hurt Max. It felt just like a pinprick to him. He pulled the dart out and looked at it. On it’s side it had the red and white Umbrella logo upon it.
‘What the hell?’, said Max.
He turned around to see his attacker, but all he saw, outside a nearby alleyway, was a white lab coat lying on the floor…
Story Part 2
The Black Devil
The mysterious man polished the rifle that lay still on his lap. The glorious moon stealing the light of the sun to reflect of the black bringer of death. The figure slowly stood up straight, taking in a deep breath thinking about what he was soon about to do. The figure edged closer to the ledge. There was no turning back. Smashed glass lay on the floor, crackling under the feet of the mysterious man. The sounds of screams gone passed flashed through the mind of this stranger. He shook his head trying to get rid of the thoughts, thoughts of death and murder. He then reached the edge. He knelt down behind the brick wall and placed the gun ontop of it. He then closed one eye and looked through the powerful scope that sat ontop of the metal weapon. He eyed his target and took in a deep breath. A loud explosion filled the air as the bullet left the gun. It sliced through the air and proceded to the target at high speed. A mass scarlet liquid covered the brick wall. The figure stood up and looked over the edge. A headless body lay on the floor, the nerves causing the body to shake.
"Take that you mother @#%$. You should have just given us the virus."
The figure took apart the deadly weapon and placed it in a dark briefcase. The shadow then left the roof, leaving behind the crisp smell of death.
