Women's Right-To-Know laws would require abortion providers to provide women with all facts concerning abortion, including: *fetal development in general and stage of development of their own child *health risks involved for the mother *all forms of abortion alternatives available to them. Such laws are usually followed with a waiting period, usually 24 hours, in order to insure that the woman has sufficient information and time to make an informed choice on a serious, life altering decision. Abortion supporters and providers, including Planned Parenthood, persistently oppose the passing of such laws. They don't want a woman to be given the chance to make an informed decision, they just want her to have an abortion - so they can make money. "Seeing a blown up moving image of the embryo she is carrying can be distressing to a woman who is about to undergo an abortion. The screen should be turned away from the patient. Staff members also may be affected by the sonographic images and may need some opportunities for venting their feelings and reconfirming their priorities." - Dr. Sally Dorfman, Ob/Gyn News A related bit of information: Planned Parenthood is also continually trying to bypass parental consent laws regarding providing abortions to minors. |
