Notes:

I. Opening Bands-

Godhead was a really solid band. Their songs were good. I really think they have something great. After the concert in the main lobby my friend Adam and I met the lead singer and he singed our ticket stubs and shook our hands! He was a really cool and nice guy. Anyways, they were an awesome band. Cold on the other hand...well they were good, but their set was too long. I think they should have cut it to about a half hour - 40 minutes. Godhead was a solid set in about a 35 minute span. Not too overbearing, yet not too short. Great way to get to know the music. Cold played about 12 or 13 quite long songs, and really should have shortened the set a bit. Otherwise, Cold was pretty damn cool in concert. I would though rather just have Godhead open for Manson, to save our ear.

II. Marilyn Manson-

The band was playing at it's peak tonight, all except maybe Ginger. As we all know, Ginger was injured in New York, and broke his collar bone. He played very well, but his energy level was a little meak. It was not a problem. I'm just surprised and proud that the guy went out and rocked as hard as he did for a good 20 songs. During one song a fucker from the mosh pit threw a shoe at him, almost hit him in the head. Pissed me off. Ginger rocks. Leave the guy alone. Manson had the spotlight put on Ginger and we all cheered for him. "Show your love for Ginger coming out tonight with a broken collar bone....now back to the hate!" That proceeded into the fight song...Set went on...

Funny Part: Someone threw a beachball on stage during Sweet Dreams. Manson took the Mic stand to try to pop it, but he misses and the ball just kinda rolled off stage. If you were there, you knew it was funny. He just couldn't hit the fucking ball!

Notable Thoughts: Manson as I said was very impressed with the crowd in Detroit. He told the fans of course how fuckin beautiful we were, how loud we were, and how we were one of the best motherfuckin crowds on the tour so far. As treats, we did get all the encores. Astonishing, Diary, and 1996. See, a good crowd does pay off. I don't blame him though. I wouldn't want to play my music for people who are just going to sit there and look. Finally...as I also said, during 1996 the set was NOT, I repeat NOT trashed for the first time I've ever seen in my life. Twiggy threw his guitar, pogo whammed his springy keyboard and john made some feedback till the lights went off. Manson checked on Ginger, and I believe they both walked off together. I don't care how good Ginger says he feels. He needs a short break, to heal. Honest to God, in one song, I believe the drums were looped over the PA, because he went down. He just kinda stopped playing. It was kinda sad. We pray for ya Ginger. I hope the ones going to the show on the 29th are going to get the benefits we did. It was the best!
