Arc of Vigo County has been informed by CARF...The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission, that it has been accredited for a period of three years for its Community Employment, Personal and Social Services and Respite Programs.

This accreditation outcome, which represents the highest level of accreditation, is awarded to organizations that show substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF and clearly indicates that present conditions represent an established pattern of total operations that is likely to be maintained and/or improved in the foreseeable future.

According to Donald E. Galvin, Ph.D, President and CEO of CARF, "Ac of Vigo County has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable." The three CARF Surveyors conducting the on-site review reported that Arc's services are the "cadilac of services" and that the Arcs Community work Services Program is a "pure model." The organization was commended for providing one on one services, as requested by families, while maintaining fiscal accountability and stability.

CARF, a private, not-for-profit, Tucson, Arizona-based accreditation body established in 1966, is committed to promoting the quality, value and outcomes of services for persons with disabilities. Indiana requires that all agencies providing rehabilitation services be accredited by CARF in order to receive funding from the state.
