They are going to represent us at the national songcontest in Istanbul. But it doesn't matter whether they'll be the winner or become the last one. Paul and Fabrizio are great lads and have been through lots of experiences. 'They fought for our sweaty towels!'.
It might not be your dream to enter the songcontest when you were younger.
Paul: I used to watch with the family but I'm definitely not a songcontest geek.
Fabrizio: When I lived in Italy I never watched.
Paul: Now I think it's a honour to represent my country.
Fabrizio: It feels as if we're going to the worldcup- very special.
Do you get a totally make-over when you go to Istanbul?
Fabrizio: No, everything stay the same. Beautiful jeans, great shirt, the guitar along and let's go singing! It's about the song.
Paul: We won't wear a cloak on a sudden. The song is intimate and we want to show it that way.
Are you going to end up in a high position in Turkey?
Fabrizio: I hope so.
Paul: First we have to go through the semifinal and when it succeeds we go for the rest. I've already heard some songs of different countries and most of them are up-tempo and pop songs. We surely get notice.
A few years ago you were in the boyband called All Of Us. Are you embarrassed for that period?
Paul: Of course not, those were the best years in my life!
Fabrizio: I agree. Eventhough I like to be ourselves in Re-union.
Did you have many horny fans
Fabrizio: Heehee, no comments.
Paul: I can tell you it's a buzz to perform in front of 12,000 screaming girls.
Have you signed many breasts back then?
Fabrizio: Yeaheehee and a lot more body parts...
Paul: Some girls even had an All Of Us tattoo. The German fans were crazy.
Fabrizio: When the concert was finished and I walked with a sweaty towel it got grabbed away. Eventhough the towel was really dirty probably it didn't matter to them. They liked it even more.
Paul: They even took along empty cans: totally crazy!
What was the strangest performance you have ever given?
Fabrizio:We once gave a performance for four people.
Paul: I wasn't a member of All Of Us yet. I joined them after a while.
Fabrizio: It took us three hours driving -it was held somewhere in Groningen- and there were just baremployee. Well, it makes you feel like an artist. We performed our entire show but strangely they've never ordered us again. Haha!
Paul: I can still remember we had to perform in Flensburg, Germany in front of 15,000 people and the next day we performed in Mierlo, The Netherlands in front of 25 people. The rain poured down and all those people were watching us underneath an umbrella.
Fabrizio: People say Bon Jovi have ever played in front of 20 people so it doesn't matter.
Did you get a depression after All Of Us?
Fabrizio: Nope I've moved to Belgium and got my own café. By the way, I still have it but I've lend it to my brother.
Paul: I've continued in the music business, but meanwhile I had different kind of jobs as well. I've worked in a pub, picked cumcumbers...'
Fabrizio: When we started off with Re-union he had callosity all over his hands! It's still in that way. If he plays one song on the piano or guitar, that instrument is immediately out of tune!
Paul: You're exaggerating.
Fabrizio: Ha! If you sit behind the keyboard with you big hands the keyboard goes bolt.
Eh...do you often have fights?
Paul: Never. Once in a while we have words, that's all.
Fabrizio: A real fight we never had. But I do have to tell you that Paul goes to bed very early. he never wants to play a game at night. He always says "nah it's almost 10 o'clock, I'm about to go to bed".
Paul: When we have to wake up at 4 o'clock, of course.
Fabrizio: But I am bored.
Paul: Hm. At least when I wake up I'm happy'. I'm not able to tell the same of you.
Fabrizio: Happy? You're just annoying. This morning you were singing 'Heb Je Even Voor Mij'* at 4.30.
Paul: And a good thing too! Last time you squirt shaving foam at night, when I lay in bed!
* 'Can I Have Your Attention For Awhile'. A very popular song sung by a Dutch artist Frans Bauer.
