Not much is known of the enigmatic Kris. She arrived with a group of people claiming to be God's servents, come to assist Jesse. Quickly she finds companionship with Shane. Her beauty is overwhelming, but her past is a mystery and the secrets she harbors could change the course of history. While she seems to believe in Jesse's divinity as messenger of God--maybe as the Messiah--she begins to act as though another is more worthy of ruling the Broken World. But who? What power does she have over Shane? And is she mad, or are the secrets she keeps the truths to the questions the world has asked for the last two thousand years?
