The Capitol Building in Nashville, TN

The bottom floor entrance. That's Allie and Sam on the doorstep. Allie decided it might be okay to work here and be the govenor before she becomes President.
This week, that is going to be right after she is a palentologist and before she is a cowgirl. Next week, who knows?

The law library. Notice the detail work on the ceiling and the ornate wrought-iron staircase

The State House chamber

The Liberty Bell.
This bell was cast from the same mold as the original bell in Philidelphia.
Incidentally, it has a beautiful, mellow tone when rung.

The entryway into the House chambers. The chandlier was originally gas fired until the early 1900's
At that time electric lamps were added. On the bannister of the sairway behind the tourists is a large chip where militiamen fired on a group of pro-slavery representatives as they fled the chamber to prevent a vote on the abolition of slave ownership. And we think today's politics are ruthless.

The cupola atop the capitol building. The Tennessee flag is flying below the American flag.

From a monument to the South erected by the Women's Christian Temperance Union in the 1920's.
