Band Parents Organization Meeting Minutes

January 9th, 2007

 

Attendance:

Cameron Robinson, Eric Wong, Judith Wong, Debbie Donaldson, Anne Damron, Marsha Yarbrough, Denise Gavello, Nick Davis, Josh Prudent, Sylvia Sanders, Laurie Nogi, Dorothy Kerr, Isela Diaz, Thomas Diaz, Jennifer Mitchell, Catherine Donaldson, David Donaldson, Richard F. Wong.

 

Minutes

Addition to December minutes: Donors should report amounts of money donated for the budget from truck fees, donations of food etc.

Motion to approve the minutes moved by Denise, seconded by Isela.

 

Treasurer’s Report – Dorothy Kerr

Current balance in checking is: $ 24,666.31. Savings is $3,760.37. Our Total is: $28,476.68.

Bills:

JW Pepper- $22.87

New York trip- $4, 790.00

Mr. Wong requested to move $4,200.00 from the BPO account to the School Music account.

Denise moved to pay the bills & Laurie Nogi seconded. Motion approved by those in attendance.

Reimbursements:

Debbie Donaldson - $ 21.97 for Fairfield Food

Donna Villados- $ 300.78

Denise moved to accept treasurer’s report. Isela seconded. Motion approved by those in attendance.

 

Membership Report – Isela Diaz

Isela is still working on the band information DVD.

 

Publicity Report –Martha Tuma

Report done by Anne Damron - The Oakland Holiday parade was on Christmas morning on KTEH.

 

Fundraising Report – Open Position

At the previous meeting, Martha brought up that we could take pictures of band members and possibly sell them as a fundraiser. Prices would be $1.00 for 4X6, $4 for 5X7, and $7-10 for 8X10. Marsha moved that we sell photos and Debbie seconded.

Nick mentioned that he has typed up letters and signed them requesting donation from family and friends as a fundraiser.

Laurie mentioned that we could provide music as a raffle item.

Dorothy mentioned that we could sell flower bulbs as a fundraiser.

Martha is waiting for a response for use of the school gym.

We will ask if we can use the rotunda for the Jazz Dinner Dance.

We usually make more money off of the silent auction then the actual tickets.

New York Fees Due: $306 due February 1st

We still have the 30-candy pack to sell as a fundraiser. We are selling the candy bars for $1.00 each.

New Business

It is possible that the P.E credits for marching band will be taken away, but details are unclear at the moment. There will be a board meeting on January 17th to discuss the issue.

Winter Concert - Parent set-up will start at 6:30pm.  Students set up after school.

Marsha moved to adjourned the meeting and Laurie seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:56 pm.
