Band Parents Organization Meeting
October 5, 2004
Meeting started at 7:37pm
Attendance: Rita Carson, Richard F. Wong, Isela Diaz, Arielle Diaz, Jessica Mayer, David Carson, Raymond Basilio, Anthony Nunes, Jessie Yin, Jennie Mitchell, Precy Bachan, Nick Conover, Dorothy Kerr, Karen Conover, Donna Villados, Dereck Quock, Julia Damron, Anne Damron, Crista Orlandi, Dorothy Orlandi, John Tuma, Daria Yudin.

Corrections: How much ‘to’ give, instead of ‘too’ under New Business.
Under the Fundraising Report where it says, “Nick Conover brought up that Amazon.com has a set up like Schoolpop,” It was Anthony who mentioned that Nick Conover had brought it up.
At the end of the minutes there was no period.
Isela moved and Karen seconded that we should go ahead with the food donation letter. Mitos Del Rosario was on the attendance two times.
At the end of the minutes, Anne Damron’s name was spelled incorrectly.
Isela Diaz moved to accept the minutes as corrected, Anthony Nunes seconded. Motion passed by those in attendance.
Rita Carson read the report. See other report. Current balance in checking is: $14,692.72. Savings is: $2,719.58. Our total is $17,462.30.
We raised $170 from shirts and seat cushions at the Back to School Night.
Under Income, Anthony clarified that we will have to pay the magazine sales bill when it arrives, so the income ($ 3,168.00) on the Treasurers report is not the net profit.
Rita Carson gave a receipt to be reimbursed for $26 for water.
Karen Conover requested to be reimbursed for the truck rentals and gas fees.
Anne moved, Isela seconded to pay bills.
Rita requested $50-60 for tarps for students to sit on, hairnets, hairspray, hair ties, first aid kit replacement, and nametags. Anne moved to allow up to $100 for replenishing of items. Karen seconded the motion.
Isela mentioned she would contact Kaiser for future donations to replenish the first aid kits.
The Yes I Can Help! parent volunteer forms have been updated, for the trips. Isela Diaz suggested we activate the phone tree to gather more helpers for upcoming trips.
The Newark Days placements were in the paper.
FEF has been updated about our field shows.
We had a Pizza Italia fundraiser on Monday September 20th. We raised $140.
The Parade- a -thon brought in $1,862.29, though not everyone has turned in the money.
Our $10 discount card sale started Monday October 4th, and will go for two weeks. They are used at local east bay businesses as a reusable credit card sized coupon.
There will be a Jazz Dinner Dance meeting Tuesday October 19th at 7:30 pm.
Our next fundraiser is the Traditions catalog.
Anthony will follow up on looking into the Coldstone Creamery fundraiser.
We have registered for the Amazon.com fundraiser. When you go to the nickhas.abnormalbo.com or American band’s website and click on the Amazon.com link, you will be directed to the Amazon website.
The printed report was accidentally from the September 14th meeting, but Mr. Wong read October’s report from the computer. Here is what we were supposed to see.

We sent out the donation letters to the students for food items.
The Fremont Swim School donated their truck for the October 2 football game and the October 29th game.
BPO meeting snacks were brought up. If people are moved to bring them, they may.
Letter for tax deduction for larger items donated to the band for tax purposes.
Scott Reubelt will be cooking lunch and dinner for the Cupertino trip.
