See other report. Current balance in checking is $10,706.48. We had a large number of deposits and donations for this month. Sue Mayer handed in receipts for transportation and food costs.
Isela Diaz put together a spreadsheet for the band parent volunteers, passed it around, and asked for corrections. The phone tree list is finished and ready to be distributed to parents on the phone tree.
Joel Rojo mentioned that we got into the Argus in the list of results from the Newark Days Parade. Jenn Mahan, Arielle Diaz, and Anna Lemley will go to the class leaders and ASB to have our information put onto the marquee.
Holly Friscia talked to someone about the Shoreline Ampitheatre to have adults working the events there. It costs $221 to put our name on a list. We will need adult volunteers for concerts and events, starting in January.
We will use the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Friday, April 2nd, 2004. We will hold a Jazz Dinner Dance meeting on Thursday, October 23rd, 6:30pm, at American High School. Anyone interested in joining committees for the jazz dinner dance are invited to attend.
The Traditions Fundraiser started today. Orders will be due next Tuesday.

Cupertino. We needed more water. We also ran out of cheese.
Cresco will charge us for half a day for the truck rental, if we use it for Saturday only. We will open up the room at 3:30pm, on Saturday, for the Independence Field Show. Dale Gerber will drive the truck for Saturday and for Merced.
Anne mentioned that we should announce that it is okay for parents to volunteer to help load the truck in the morning even if they cannot go to the event. Parents have been good about helping, when they drop off students and also helping unload the truck, when they come to pick up their children.
Some of the hangers broke, on our last trip. If students can bring a nice wooden hanger to hang their uniforms, it would help. Isela will activate the phone tree to remind parents about the hangers.
Jewel Conover brought up that berets should be worn to the right, based upon her research. Anna said that we had to fix berets anyway, so therefore, we might as well tell them to wear it to the right.
Anna mentioned that if we have digital cameras, we could get the pictures we take at competitions to Mr. Chamberlain and he could print and post them up around the school for us.
For Homecoming, we will have more access for vehicles to move our equipment onto the field. The Athletic Boosters will help us put “Reserved for Band” tape to tape off our section.
For Merced, Dale is driving the truck, and Nancy is driving the bus drivers to and from the hotel rooms. We will prepare for rain.
Nancy Williams moved to adjourn the meeting and Joel Rojo seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:40pm.
Our next BPO Meeting will be Wednesday, November 12, 2003, due to Veterans Day falling on the second Tuesday of the month.
