Band Parents Organization Meeting Minutes
November 8^th, 2005

Attendance:
Dorothy Kerr, Donna Villados, Rita Carson, Linda Rusch, Kathy Butler, Anne Damron, Martha Tuma, Sylvia Wong, Mitos Del Rosario, Alec Del Rosario, Eric Wong, Tracy Mooney, Chris Mooney, Debbie Donaldson, Anthony Nunes, Dong Hua, Calvin Rusch, Jennie Mitchell, Richard F. Wong.

Minutes
Anne motioned to approve the minutes from the previous meeting and Dorothy seconded. Minutes approved by those in attendance.

Treasurer’s Report- Kathy Butler
Current balance in checking is: $ 16,434.87. Savings is $2,726.43. Our Total is: $19,211.30.
Anthony asked if we are going to move money from checking into savings. We used to slowly transfer funds that we would end up using for uniform purchases. Kathy mentioned that we could transfer the amount paid for the uniform fees- $1,025.00 from the checking to savings account. Kathy will look into it to make sure we will be okay to move funds and still pay for all costs for the year.
Anne motioned and Isela seconded to approve the treasurers’ report as presented
Bills:
Mirmont uniforms for concert dress: $68.11.
Scott Reubelt for Santa Cruz truck rental and food: $237.45
Donna Villados for Santa Cruz food and drink: $146.64
Mr. Wong for Winter Percussion music: $182.00
Dorothy Kerr for Santa Cruz food: $169.91
Motion to pay the bills made by Donna and Dorothy seconded.
Anne moved to accept the treasurer’s report and Anthony seconded.

Membership Report- Denise Gavello
Denise has put together a yahoo band group. Denise has already sent out emails to invite parents to join the email group.

Publicity Report- Martha Tuma
We will have email reminders about upcoming fundraisers like Pizza Italia and the discount cards. Martha has sent out letters to local businesses for the silent auction for the Jazz Dinner Dance.

Fundraising Report- Anthony Nunes
The next Pizza Italia fundraising is this Saturday November 12^th.
We are still selling the discount cards and the deadline is this Thursday November 10th. The cards include discounts to local restaurants and businesses.
We are also selling magazines and subscription renewals through Vinny Chopra of Great American as another fundraiser. There is also a website set up (www.gafundraising.com) almost like the School pop where we select the American Band name and buy magazines anytime.

Directors Report- See other Report

Old Business
New jacket and sweatshirt orders have been placed and we have received them.
We are still working on a thank you gift from the band for Mr. Chamberlain.

New Business
We are going to Fairfield for our next competition.

Rita sent out a thank you letter to the Fremont Swim School for use of their truck for football games.

The PTA put on a meeting for the different parent groups of the school to put up an electronic marquee. They have $20.000 so far to purchase the marquee and they normally cost close $50.000. The next meeting for this is before the upcoming boosters meeting.

Donna had an idea of giving band apparel to the Dale Hardware store for their donations.

We will dedicate our last football field show performance to alumni and former band members who are currently in the Armed Forces.

We are planning a Disneyland trip for the end of spring break.

The FEF is planning for the spring telethon and there will be a meeting this Thursday November 10^th.

Motion to adjourn by Anne Damron and Martha Tuma seconded. Meeting adjourned 8:25 pm.
