Minutes

Anne motioned to approve the minutes and Martha seconded.

 

Treasurer’s Report - Kathy Butler

Current balance in checking is: $ 9,557.90. Savings is $3,752.81. Our Total is: $13,360.71.

Bills

Mirmont-$383.21

Donna- $100.00 for Dina’s

Anthony- $ 77.43

 

Anne moved to pay bills. Martha seconded. Motion passed by those in attendance.

Membership Report - Denise Gavello

Nothing to report.

 

Publicity Report –Martha Tuma

The Pizza Italia fundraiser has been advertised to different groups.

We have sent out 20 more donation letters and will wait for replies on those.

The Jazz Dinner Dance has been advertised on cable Channel 26.

 

Fundraising Report - Anthony Nunes

We have a pizza night Monday February 13th at Pizza Italia.

There is a Jazz Dinner Dance meeting after this BPO mtg.

We are selling Hershey’s candy in an “Internet “box.

Fremont Flower’s needs help on delivery of items to customers and we can make $6.00 per delivery.

Old Business

We are still working on a thank you gift from the band for Mr. Chamberlain.

The PTSA is still working on the marquee. There will be a digging party this weekend, and lunch will be provided.

The trailer has been moved into a locked area of the school. We will look at how much it would cost to repair and/or how much it is worth in case we sell it.

 

New Business

Winter percussion & guard rehearsals have started.

We will need to rent a truck to move equipment. There first trip is on a Friday and the remaining on Saturdays. 

 

Anne moved to adjourn the meeting and Shane seconded. Meeting adjourned 8:11 pm.

Jazz Dinner Dance Meeting

February 7, 2006

 

Meeting started at 8:17pm.

 

Attendance: Anthony Nunes, Rita Carson, Donna Villados, Anne Damron, Denise Gavello, Kathy Butler, Debbie Donaldson, Jennie Mitchell, Jessie Yin, Derek Amaral, Alice Kao, Richard F. Wong

 

Veteran’s Hall – we need to find out when we can arrive at the hall to set up, on the morning of March 25. Rita Carson will look into it. We would like to get in at 8am.

 

Silent auction – baskets are due on March 1.

We need more donations. Anne volunteered to drop off letters, along with flowers on Monday.

 

Budget – see other sheet (Jazz Dinner Dance Budget 2006)

 

Need to publicize more on the various networks we have available, such as e-mail lists. We need to sell the benefits of our Jazz Dinner Dance, such as the menu, it’s family-friendly, low cost, alcohol-free, etc.

 

Use the automated telephone tree.

 

Decorations and setup – Jazz Legends

 

Cleanup – Donna will write up a list of duties and directions so that whoever helps with clean up will know what to do.

 

We will need 6-8 students. Mr. Wong will recruit the responsible students for cleanup. We need self-starters. 6 students will cover 4 tables each. Michelle Butler. Jeff Chien.

 

Quilt – the top is done. We have sold $81 worth of tickets already.

 

Alumni Band – we need a list of names and they need to commit so that we know how many we will cover for dinner.

 

Meeting ended at 9:15pm.
Jazz Dinner Dance meeting January 10th 2006

 

We have received an autographed hockey puck from the San Jose Sharks.

Cloverleaf Bowl and Ardenwood Farm have donated to us also.

The insurance information for the concert has been given directly to the venue by Risk Management.

We have checked out 80 tickets so far.

Anthony and Donna will meet with Daniel at Dina’s to approve the menu for the catering.

The quilt raffle tickets will go out at the winter concert for a sneak preview. The tickets will be a $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

 

Kathy made a motion to allot the extra $100 for the alumni performers and have them pay $10.00 for dinner and Anne seconded.

 

Isela mentioned asking the local banks for paying the cost of our catering so that we can make more of a profit.

 

Anne made a motion that performers and workers get in the jazz dinner dance for free, Debbie seconded.
