Meeting called to order at 8:28pm. Due to 9th grade presentation before
the general meeting.
Motion to approve minutes from previous meeting made by Anthony and
seconded by Fred.
Membership Report – Diana/Renuka/Sridevi
Diana talked to incoming parents about joining the music program and
many said they could not because they had to choose between the band
and the foreign language.
We are looking for people to man the booths at the maze day to gather
funds for the music program.
Publicity Report –Sylvia
Judy sent an email with the pictures of the Jazz Band from last years
Jazz Festival at Pacific Commons.
Fundraising Report – Jennie/Brandon/Ruth/Diana
We raised $200 at the Panda Express Fundraiser.
We made $115.26 at the BJ’s Fundraiser
Diana brought up that we can get lanyards that say American High School
Band & sell them. Diana, Mr. Wong, Anthony and Judy will look into
the details of the lanyards and not to exceed the price of $400. Motion
made by Fred and seconded by Judy.
We will be having a table at the maze day promoting the music program.
Laurie will be putting a donation letter for water in the newsletter.
We need to advertise, e-scrip, One Cause and SHARES.
Charles mentioned doing a fundraiser at Habachi-San, a Japanese fast
food restaurant on August 15th.
Judy wants to put pictures up on a website where students can purchase
pictures online and we get some proceeds. Laurie asked is we would have
to have a release form signed by parents in order for pictures to be
purchased.
Action item 1:
Diana Mr. Wong will work on the details to get lanyards, and the
maximum price of $400.
Laurie and Anthony will work together to get volunteers for the Maze
Day music table.

Reimbursements
Mr. Wong- $ 900.00 for Fremont Festival of Arts
Laurie made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report with corrections
and pay the bills. Renuka seconded the motion, and it was approved by
those in attendance.

Warm-ups/t-shirts-
We usually get a T-shirt with our field show theme on it, and we can
also get a generic shirt for the band members.

Fred moved to adjourn the meeting seconded by Allie. Motion passed by
those in attendance. Meeting adjourned at 9:34 pm. The next meeting is
September 8th, 2009 at 7:30pm.
