Band Parents Organization Meeting
September 14th, 2004
Meeting started at 7:36pm

Minutes from previous meeting. Anne Damron moved to accept the minutes as read, Isela Diaz seconded. Motion passed by those in attendance.
See other report. Current balance in checking is: $16,412.75. Savings is: $2,719.58. We approved reimbursements to Rita Carson for $52.38, and $429.04. Reimbursements approved to Anthony Nunes for $561.31. We also approved to pay the bills from Mr. Wong for $781.11 & $713.75. Motion to pay by Isela Diaz and seconded by Anne Damron.
Apparel sales for band camp were $621.50.
Jennie, Jewel and Daria and Ray volunteered to put out a table for selling apparel at the Back to School Night on September 23rd. We will sell seat cushions , t-shirts and left over candy.
We had sign up sheets at the BBQ. The sign up sheets will be brought to the future meetings.
The pep band was on the local channel for the past football game High School Sports Focus on KICU channel 36.
We just did the Fun Company fundraiser on September 11th and we made $2,350. We did two of these events over the summer.
The parade-a-thon sheets were given out to the band for Newark Days. They are due September 15th.
We have a Pizza Italia fundraiser on Monday September 20th.
We are considering a Cold Stone ice cream fundraiser. The parents would have to work 5-8pm.
Our next fundraiser is a discount card sale, and they will be for local businesses. A week later we will do the Traditions catalog sale.
Nick Conover brought up that Amazon.com has a set up like SchoolPop.
The Jazz Dinner Dance may be on April 16th 2005.
The location has yet to be finalized.
There will be a Jazz Dinner Dance only meeting sometime next month. Lucy
and Dorothy volunteered to go to Smart and Final and Albertsons to ask for
future donations of food or supplies. Debbie Donaldson has started making a
quilt to donate to our cause. We will have raffle tickets for the quilt. They
will be $1 a ticket or 6 for $5. We will need help marketing the quilt. A
thought is to sell sponsorship or advertising.

10/9 Cupertino- all day, rent truck, bus
Band trip checklist has price comparison for food cost. Dorothy volunteered to go compare prices at local grocery stores.
A motion is made to go ahead with the food donation letter. Isela motions to do the first trip. Karen Conover 2nd.
Donna volunteered to bring all recycling from all trips to the recycle center for extra money.
Daria will find out from the Fremont swim school about donating their vehicle for local events.
