There are 13 members of the phone tree. Isela Diaz will activate the phone tree to remind people about meetings and other upcoming events. Sign up sheets were passed around the meeting so that others could sign up.
Joel Rojo mentioned that if you cannot sign up to help out at an event, you can go to support and cheer on the band. We would appreciate it. Joel is working with the Argus, Tri-City Voice, and looking for other publicity venues.
Holly Friscia is working on getting us signed up for the Shoreline Ampitheatre to have adults working the events there. She is also contacting the Fremont Marriott for the Jazz Dinner Dance. If that falls through, we can use the Church of Latter-Day Saints on Friday, the day before the scheduled Jazz Dinner Dance.

Band Camp. It went well.
We will need parent drivers for the Football Pep Band (9/19), the Newark Days Parade (9/20), and the Football Field Show (10/2).
Anna Lemley wore the complete uniform to the band parents meeting, to show what the new uniforms look like.
David Mayer moved to rent a truck for the Football Field Show on October 2. Nancy Williams seconded. The approximate cost would be $80. Motion passed by those in attendance.
A Truck rental costs for 2003 marching season spreadsheet was handed out. David Mayer mentioned that the truck is usually loaded on the Friday, the day before the competition/event. We have used Cresco in the past year. They aren’t as cheap as U-Haul, but the equipment was reliable, unlike U-Haul, which we had poor experiences with in the past. They also give us a discount. Phil Chavez volunteered to be a back up for this year, for David. David Mayer made a motion to approve the payment of the truck rental costs for the 3 competitions (Cupertino, San Jose, Merced). Nancy seconded. Motion passed.
Nancy Williams moved to adjourn the meeting and David Mayer seconded. Meeting adjourned at 8:46pm.
