q       This itinerary

q       Instrument, equipment (mark tree, beater for gong, sleigh bells, tambourine (with head), wood block, rubber mallets for wood block, wind chimes, bongos, suspended cymbal, yarn mallets for suspended cymbal, cowbell, drumsticks, crash cymbals, ride cymbal, more drumsticks, triangle, triangle beater, triangle clip, timpani mallets, bass drum mallet, snare drum sticks, mallets, chime hammers, etc.), and Accessories (tuning rods, mutes, reeds, neck straps, valve oil, slide cream, spray bottle, mouthpiece, screwdriver set) [They will have the following on stage: timpani, bass drum, snare drum, xylophone, bells, chimes, piano, tam-tam (gong)]

q       Music – Concert Band – Smoky Mountain Rhapsody, Blue Ridge Autumn, Barrier Reef

q       Music – Symphonic Band – Upon These Wings, Let Evening Come, Lexicon

q       Water bottle

q       Wear your Concert attire (white top, black bottom, dress shoes, coat & tie for men)

q       $3 for medals (optional), money for snacks (optional)

 

5:30 A.M.          Band Room Open. If you need music, last-minute instrument maintenance, now is the time.

6:00                 Meet at American High School. Be on time!!!! (-20 points for lateness)

 

6:10                 Load bus/vehicles and leave for Deer Valley High School, Antioch. (4700 Lone Tree Way)

7:55                 Arrive at Deer Valley High School, check-in

8:30                 Symphonic Band warms up (We may need some helpers from Concert Band to move equipment. The rest of the Concert Band will go to the audience and watch other groups perform. Remember to be a good, respectful, audience.)

9:00                 Symphonic Band performs

9:30                 Symphonic Band sightreads music.

10:00               Picture? At this time, Symphonic Band students who need to leave, who have parent rides, will sign out and leave.

10:30               Concert Band warms up (We may need some helpers from Symphonic Band to move equipment. The rest of the Symphonic Band will go to the audience and watch other groups perform. Remember to be a good, respectful, audience.)

11:00               Concert Band performs

11:30               Concert Band clinic

12:00 P.M.        Picture? At this time, we will all load and leave.

1:30                 Arrive at AHS. Unload the bus quickly, as we are charged for the bus until it leaves.

 

  1. I strongly encourage you to listen to other groups and support each other in your performances.
  2. Remember to be on your best behavior.
  3. Leave the site as you found it. Put trash in the trashcans.

 


In an effort to increase communication with all families of the music program, we are asking parents/guardians to sign and return the bottom portion of each sheet sent home.
