Rick was born in St. Louis and has lived here all of his life. He went to St. Sabina Catholic grade school from first grade through eight grade. During the grade school years, Rick paricipated in the cub scouts and sang guitar mass every Sunday. He also participated on a CYC baseball team. Rick attended Hazelwood Junior High during nineth grade. The next three years of high schoool was spent at Hazelwood Central high school.
Rick was on the tracks team in junior and senior high school. He placed second or third in the 440 yard run during the track season. He normally placed third in 880 yard run. Rick was also on the wrestling team at Hazelwood Central.
After high school Rick attended St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley taking a dual program of an associates of arts in data processing and a computer science transfer program to Rolla. In 1976, financial hardship prevented Rick from attending the University Of Missouri Rolla. Rick completed his associates degree from St. Louis Community College in the fall of 1976. In February of 1977, Rick accepted an entry level position at McDonnell Douglas Corporation. Rick continued taking data processing courses at Washington University at night.
In 1978, Rick married Cathy Rice. Within three years their first child Lindsay was born. Four years later in 1985, Celia was born. In November of 1978, Rick and Cathy purchased a home in Hazelwood. They currently live in the same home today.
From 1980 through 1990, Rick continued to developed his data processing skills and experience. In 1991, Rick became a data processing consultant for McDonnell Douglas Professional Services. Over the next ten years, Rick has supported St. Louis based companies as a consultant. Rick is currently working for the May Company.
In 1985, Rick was baptized into the Southern Baptist church and became a born again christian
member of Villebrook Baptist Church. Between 1985 and the present, Rick has performed songs for
the congregation at Villebrook church. The words and music to these songs were usually written
by Rick.
