SHEPHERDS PIEKnown as cottage pie if made with ground beef instead of lamb. Easy to prepare meal that can be made in advance.
INGREDIENTS
1 lb Minced lamb (or beef)
2 tsps Dried parsley
1 small chopped onion
salt, pepper, garlic powder
1 tbsp flour
1 tspn Worcestershire sauce
5 oz Beef stock
1 lb mashed potatoesPROCEDURE
Fry the lamb and onions until meat is brown. Drain off any excess fat. Add beef stock, flour and worcester sauce. Add dried parsley, salt, pepper and garlic to taste. Mix together well and turn out into oven proof dish. Spoon the mashed potatoes on top. Smooth out with knife and then run a fork through the surface to create a ripple effect. Bake for 45 mins at 350f. If has been made in advance and kept in refridgerator will take about an hour. Surface of potatoes should be a golden brown. Will serve 4.
