Sydney

Sydney is one of the most naturally beautiful city in the world. By world standards, it is a fairly youthful city with a history of a little over 200 years. For my Aussie friends who have not lived overseas, you will never know how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful and green city. For my non-Aussie friends, I hope the photos that I have included below will do justice to Sydney and give you a good idea what Sydney looks and feels like. If you have never been Down Under, you don't know what you're missing out on.

Now for the billion dollar question: Is Sydney always this sunny and tourist-friendly? The answer is yes, 366 days a week! Okay, I am an EFL teacher, so I can't count. But seriously, I would say a good 50% of the time, Sydneysiders are blessed with sunny and fine weather. The photos below were taken in winter and early summer. All the photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 990 digital camera, my pet toy for the last 18 months.

I had to compress the JPEG files to keep the download time to less than 30 seconds a photo. As a result, there is a slight loss of detail in the photos, but I think the tradeoff is acceptable.

Click on each thumbnail for a full sized photo and comments. I hope you'll enjoy the photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them.
