Destiny vs. Cadence

Destiny grins to Cadence and flutters off to one side of the shrine, giving plenty of distance between her and he. She lands in the grass, and takes a deep breathe, preparing herself, wing twitching slightly above the blades in anticipation. She giggles softly, knowing just how to start this duel off right. She reaches into her pack for her trusty paintbrush and a sheet of paper, beginning to sketch her picture immediately, pausing every couple of moments to be sure the details are just right. She adds one last stroke and nods, happy with the final product. She reaches into her pouch at her waste and retrieves a pinch of her shimmering pixie dust, sprinkling it liberally over her creation. She quickly balls the paper up, and gives it a toss toward Cadence. It flies further than you would have thought for one so tiny hefting it, landing almost right in front of it. The paper quickly unfurls, going back to its original shape, and forms a rectangular hole in the ground. You hear the oddest sound coming from the hole, one that you can almost place. Suddenly, a pink tube protrudes from the opening, swishing this way and that, almost as if it is scenting the air. Quite suddenly, you realize it isn't a tube, but rather a long, pink, wrinkled nose. A big head with giant flat ears comes next, and in a matter of moments there is a giant pink stuffed elephant before you, brought to life. It makes its elephant noise again, eyes trained on Cadence. It gives a little rump shake, and begins bouncing. Its bouncing becomes faster as it moves forward, headed right for Cadence, intent on whapping him flat.....into a pancake...or crepe....or something else really flat.....

Cadence watches the great pink elephant in complete paralysis. Something about seeing the legendary creature up close and personal prevents him from moving himself to safety. All of a sudden, when the elephant is almost on top of him, he snaps to. Cadence turns from the great beast and runs as fast as his little legs will carry him. As he runs, he digs frantically through his sack, pulling out every last peanut he can find. Dropping the armload of peanuts in front of him, Cadence jumps to the side, just in time to avoid being crushed into something much less three-dimensional than he would like. The elephant, being an elephant, is irresistibly drawn to the peanuts. Having bought himself a few moments, Cadence quickly gets to work. Pulling two twigs out of his messy purple hair, he begins to beat them together. Slowly the world around you seems to freeze, as if time just stopped. Working with intense concentration, Cadence carefully beats out his rhythm, changing the fabrics of time. The world begins to move again, gradually getting faster and faster, the colors about you change, but you cannot tell what they are. Suddenly the beating stops. Cadence, Destiny, the elephant, and all others in the immediate vicinity find themselves standing in the midst of an old Karchan, one from a time long, long ago. Herds of pink elephants roam the bright green land. The shrine has disappeared, leaving beautiful fields for miles in every direction. Even the trees have moved to a position of old. When one of the herds notice the lone elephant, they move to reunite with their friend. Now everyone is in danger of being trampled, not by one elephant, but by hundreds, especially a little pixie like Destiny. Besides that, it might be wise for someone to make sure Cadence doesn't get injured...as it might be nice to have a method of returning to the current time frame.

Destiny watches in fascination as the world around her slowly begins to change around her, the colors swirling and shifting mesmerizing the little, ADD pixie. She blinks as the world becomes that of old times, and squeals in delight as she sees the great herd of pink elephants. She flits up into the sky quite high to observe them better, admiring them in all their splendor. Destiny's brow furrows slightly as she realizes these elephants are the stampeding kind, and almost decides to let them have their way with trampling Cadence, helping her reach her goal of flattening him after all. But she sighs, and decides against it, thinking she kinda enjoys having him around. She whips out a new piece of paper, and gets a better grip on her paintbrush, before drawing swiftly and surely, little brush moving in a blur. She finishes the picture, and adds two big handfuls, knowing this is going to take alot of her magic pixie essence. The paper in her hand expands almost instantly, growing larger and larger in size. You soon see present day Karchan on the sheet, growing and growing until it is so large it completely covers the old Karchan with all its pink elephants, bring Cadence, Destiny, and anyone else who might be present right back to the present. But Destiny is giggling, a devious glint in her eye. She motions over to the Shrine, and you turn your head to see what she is pointing to. You soon realize that she added something to place that wasn't here before. But you are struck dumb by what you see. There emerging from behind the stone sign is an odd creation, oddly resembling what one could only call a doodle. You see the big round strokes of where the brush just passed over the paper almost carelessly. The Doodle Monster emits a noise that is ear-grating, coming from what you can only assume is its mouth. And that is when you notice the razor sharp points surrounding its mouth opening. And...is it....clamping those points together, again and again....almost trying to show you that it can do such a fearsome task. A rumble is heard, and you soon realize that it came from a doodle stomach, and that this thing is very hungry. It turns its larger bubble stroke toward Cadence, as if looking at him. And in a wobbly, jerky manner, begins to advance on Cadence, faster than could be imagined for such a crazy creation. It's intent? To satisfy its hunger on a little purple-haired man......named Cadence....MIF Master of Rhythms.....Magic Jortleberry Flavored....Doodle Monster’s favorite....yum....

Cadence stares at the monster for a moment, thinking that it looks a little familiar. The light bulb turns on above his head. Glancing up he wonders what on Kuri is happening around here, then he realizes that he just figured it out. He's in doodle land, where he and Skye and Ary visited one silly night that resulted in Cadence's brilliant invention of droodles (being doodles made out of drool). All of a sudden, Cadence remembers Harold, a character from his favorite childhood story. After looking around frantically, Cadence finally locates the magical purple crayon. Quickly running the crayon through his hair to give him more strength, Cadence turns to see the monster charging at him. Gripping the crayon, he quickly starts drawing in thin air, the crayon leaving quite real marks behind it. Criss-crossing the crayon in large lines, Cadence finishes constructing the cage around him. The monster comes running into the cage after the poor little purple haired TalZian. Thinking quickly, Cadence jumps over the doodle monster and draws a locked door on the cage. Sighing with relief, he turns to Destiny. Thinking that maybe he needs to work on Destiny's own level, he once again begins to make use of the purple crayon. Drawing out a bunch of little pixies with horns and pitchforks, he releases them at an amazing speed -- you realize that Cadence must have spent a considerable amount of time drawing during his early lessons -- The little devil pixies swarm after Destiny, ready to poke her with their pitchforks. Curiously enough, you notice that all of them seem to be foaming at the mouth, maybe some form of pixie drool. ...which, considering Cadence's droodle invention, that would make sense. Of course, you have to wonder what sort of venom the little droodles might possess.

Destiny watches from her high vantagepoint as Cadence works his magic with his little purple crayon, head tilted to the side in curiosity. She thought she was the only mage with such drawing abilities, and grins broadly, glad to know that she isn't. She gazes on as he begins to doodle a little herd of purple, foaming, most likely poisonous pixies, wielding pitchforks and having horns. The little pixie blinks as she realizes these tiny droodles are all intent upon causing her much harm...be it with pitchforks or poison. She begins to zoom around the clearing, miniature herd following close at her heels. She reaches into her pack for a new sheet of paper, mind working quickly for some way to save herself from this pint-sized danger. She beings to sketch quickly, pulling on one of her own fantasy creatures, working to get the details just right as she flies about. Once she is sure of her picture, she shoves it into her pixie dust pouch, afraid of losing any of her precious essence. She pulls the sheet back out, and drops it, allowing it to float slowly and carelessly down to the ground. She dodges behind a tree as the magic goes into to work. The paper hits the ground, and a strange cry can be heard from it. These little demon pixies, being the curious creatures that they are, stop and feel compelled to investigate such a noise. As the draw closer, a beast leaps from the page, wearing a horn proudly on its head and spitting a little venom itself. The unicllama......(yes, it is a one-horned llama..*giggles*) glances around, and spies the tiny little morsels of pixie flesh. It licks its lip, always spurned to hunger by the smell of poison. It begins to feast on the little being, sending them scattering or devouring where they stand. Once it has made quick work of the tiny beings, it turns its attentions to Cadence, an intense look in its eyes. Its mouth begins to foam as it spies a new treat, and it charges at the purple-haired mage at full speed....still quite unsatisfied on the pixie-appetizer...and craving Cadence surprise....

Cadence screeches as this evil furry thing comes running at him. Quickly using his purple crayon, he draws two giant sized drumsticks and points them at this horror new to him. Wanting to stay as far away as possible from this disfigured fuzzy unicorn type thing, Cadence sends the purple enhanced drumsticks off to do his dirty work. The drumsticks start beating together in a fury, the wind reacting to their rhythm. Harsh, cold winds whip this way and that, creating small whirlwinds, but being too random to keep them going. The sticks rush toward the evil creature and start whizzing around it, poking and prodding and rubbing and scratching it. The unicllama starts making a hideous noise, which is soon identified as a laughing type sound. Moving around, so that the drumsticks are rubbing and scratching its most itchy areas, the unicllama seems quite content to forget about its Cadence surprise. Cadence then quickly draws up two more drumsticks that seek out Destiny, unfortunately with her tiny size, they would not be massaging her, but rather beating her into a pulp.

Destiny giggles, hearing cadence screech at her wonderful creature. She giggles long and hard, not even paying attention to what Cad is doing about the unicllama. She jumps slightly when she hears the thing laugh, and turns her attention back to the scene at hand. Her eyes quickly take in the massive drumsticks and their loving attention to her poison baby. She wrinkles her nose slightly, and shakes her head, thinking on how hard it is to find loyal pets that won't forget when nice, massaging poultry comes along. She glances to Cadence, wondering how he is reacting to all this, only to see the little mage working on making a couple more drumsticks. She watches with something akin to fear as the drumsticks begin to beat together, and she realizes what her fate could be. For a moment she gets a far off look in her eye, remember something her apprenticer sent after her, and decided she would try that defense again. She flits between the two legs, trying to gauge how hard they are impacting. She notices that when they think they are about to get her, their force increase....a lot....knocking meat and skin off the other one. She grins slightly, thinking she may have this licked. She begins whipping back and forth between the two, slowing down just a tiny bit each time to have them increase their force. After a few whappings together, only a couple of bone shards remain, the rest having been knocked off and falling. Destiny giggles, and flits down to the ground to walk between the fallen bird pieces. She nudges gently against a piece of the meat, making sure it is dead, then stamps her foot on it proudly, grinning to Cadence. "That was quite fun!"
