Istas vs. Cadence
Cadence rubs his hands together in excitement. Sitting down on the steps beneath the blue stone, he pulls out his book and starts flipping through the pages, finding a cute story about a runaway bunny and how its mother does everything to find it every time it goes somewhere else. Grinning he puts one finger on the page to keep his place and flips through to another story about a bunch of odd knights that want to get past a cute little bunny that has fangs and kills a bunch of them. Flipping back to the first page, a giant cloud appears in the shape of a bunny, then it changes to a bunny shaped wave, and continues morphing through the story. Satisfied Cadence turns back to the other bunny and starts to read. Before long, mother bunny seems to think Istas is her runaway bunny, but instead of finding her and loving her and taking her back home, she grows fangs and tries to rip Istas limb from limb.
Istas peers down at the doe rabbit. Raising a thin brow she turns her curious gaze to Cadence before returning her icy stare to the small creature hopping toward her. She takes a few quick steps back as it bares it's fangs but soon regains her calm. Placing a hand to the floor she freezes the ground beneath the bunny's feet and it comes sliding confusedly into her arms. The animal grows still at her touch, not calmed but chilled beyond comfort. With a flick of her finger she snaps one fang off and then the other before setting the rabbit back down to thaw. Looking up at Cadence a small grin marks her lips as she turns both palms upward and a white haze begins to fill the room. A chilled wind whips through the area casting a flurry of flakes across Cadence's line of sight as Istas kneels, returning her palm to the ground. The ice spreads slowly toward her opponent as more and more white crystals spill forth curling around Cadence in an icy whirlwind. The ice creeps between the green man's feet as another gust whips through. If he isn't careful he might find himself ice skating unintentionally or flat on his back with a cracked noggin.
Cadence jumps up and down, excited about the falling snow. Trying to gather as much as he can he goes about making a small and dilapidated snowman. Taking out his purple crayon he draws up a hat and places it on the snowman's head. Suddenly the icy creature takes a step forward and starts singing and dancing around. Cadence claps his hands and then realizes that his feet have nothing to grip on and falls straight down on his arse. Pouting, he opens up his book and flips through. Pulling out a pair of ice skates, he follows Frosty around, dancing his graceful ice dance... for some reason he also sprouts a tail and seems to be wearing a tutu, and you have a strange desire to call him Angelina. Oh well, grabbing his book in the middle of a spin, he flips through the pages till he sees a picture of a rabbit sitting on a log crying in front of a house. With a snap of his fingers, the rabbit appears sitting on a frozen log in front of Istas. A few minutes later a leopard comes by and asks the rabbit why he's crying. Rabbit sobs out, "Someone is in my house and wont come out!" So Leopard shouts out, "Who's in Rabbit's house?" The response seems muffled, as the house doesn't exist, and Istas is taking it's place. With a sudden fury, Leopard leaps up, intending to land on the house and rip it to shreds. Within a few seconds I rhinosorous shows up and continues the tradition, this time wanting to push the house into a lake. Every few moments a new animal shows up wanting to destroy the house (being Istas), in a different way unique to the animal's talents.
Istas blinks as another rabbit magically appears before her. Watching warily as a leopard approaches the rabbit she listens to them banter back and forth, confused by both the topic of conversation and the mere fact that they are speaking. Seeing the leopard leap for her she ducks and instinctively thrusts her hand out toward the animal as she dodges to one side. The big cat lands beside her looking a bit different than when it left the ground. With its new black and white coat it curls around the mage's legs growling softly and nuzzling against her. Deciding that a rhinoceros is probably a bit more than she can handle at the moment she switches places with the fanged rabbit, leaving it to contend with the other animals, and dashes past the other rabbit on it's little log. Her hands pull together and apart as a white ball grows between her palms. With deadly accuracy, she chucks the ball at Cadence, quickly growing another icy orb between her hands as her new snow leopard lopes behind her. She casts a seemingly endless barrage of snowballs at the man, drawing water from the air all around her.
Cadence oohs and aahs at the pretty snow leopard. Then, as he sees a snowball forming in Istas' hand he knows he could be in trouble. Turning back to an early story in the book he sees a nice fluffy bunny that just makes you want to pat it. Clapping his hands, he giggles as the first snowball turns into a fluffy little bunny. Catching it carefully he sets it on the ground. He continues to clap his hand and catch the fluffy snowball bunnies as they come. Then he realizes he's created another problem. Everyone knows that you don't want a bunch of bunnies in a room together, they're almost as bad as tribbles...reproducing at will. Within a few moments the bunnies have doubled, then tripled, then Istas and her new pet are in grave danger of being smothered by cute fluffy snowbunnies.
Istas sighs and shakes her head. Glancing upward, a rush of new flakes fills the room covering the gyrating bunnies in a thick, white blanket of snow. Istas and her new pet climb atop the bunny hills and go in search of Cadence. The mage lays her palm flat and smiles as three unique ice crystals land there. They begin to twitch and grow instead of melting as they might upon your own hand. As Istas spots her opponent she takes up one hexagonal crystal, now nearly the length of her arm with razor sharp edges, and propels it toward him following suit with the two other crystals. The giant flakes speed toward the literature mage, glowing blue as they seek his heat.
Cadence smoothly gives Altarial a smooch and moves her over to where Jaxom is, safe as a spectator. Then he procedes to get attacked viciously by Istas for no apparent reason. Sniffling softly that someone he barely knows would already be trying to kill him, he goes about looking for some way to get away from the heat seeking wigglies. Then, the mage gets a brilliant idea. Slamming his book shut he makes all the frozen bunnies return to imagination in the blink of an eye. When all of Istas' evil heat seeking iciness disappears along with the frozen bunnies, Cadence sighs a huge sigh of relief and turns toward Altarial wearing a big pout and making out that Istas just randomly started attacking him for no reason at all.
